at 40 sec: what the hell is hancock doing

at 1 why is the wideout going diagonal left when the run is designed for the right

at 2:50: its no reason that lineman should have miss that blocks. he could have just touch him in some type of way

disect that video some more and u see some run block issues. i know its a alpha build video

Did you really just dig for an alpha video? Alpha is the first stages of a build, if you knew its an alpha build why would you even bother posting it? I honestly don't get what you're trying to do.

I saw the video and you were funny as hell but in APF the Iso runs work the best out of all runs plays in the game. Use some toss plays or sweeps. I understand Madden 09 has run blocking issues more frequently but the fact is that your video made it seem that APF had ZERO run blocking issues and Madden 09 has this issue every run play.

The only real blocking issues that I have a persistent issue with in APF is when defensive ends drop out to cover the flats.

Sometimes it leave a OT or G in a "I wanna give you a hug" position, and they just dont move from that until a defender comes in.

As I said many times, those are the first two plays from scrimmage in a game. I feel they are also fundamental plays in football. My stance has always been that in order to get elaborate plays correct, then you need to get the fundamental ones right. To me thats just logical. For some reason hordes of people seem to think I fumble through hours of Madden to get a play like that. Its just not true.

I find it funny that in APF or Madden that some people complain about the run blocking yet when they call an Iso run play they try and bounce the RB outside and wonder why there is no blocking LOL. I think half of the issues related to run blocking AI has EVERYTHING to do with people not running the ball the way the play was designed.

This is why I hate video post...

The person making the video can take what he wants to make his point and exaggerate it.

I can take ANY GAME and get the worst possible scenario and record it even though the game has plenty of GREAT scenarios.

Like I said, Madden 09 was HORRIBLE but be fair when comparing.

Madden 10 has not hit the shelfs yet and unless you went to E3, on the Madden dev team or was a community day guy than your input about Madden 10 should be seen as ***umptions simply because you lack any real knowledge of what you are talking about.

I have seen my LEGEND FB and LEGEND GUARD all run right past a LB rushing in and run right to the safety or worse yet run all the way across the field to someone not even close to the play.

My point is that happens in APF also and it is a lot more frequent than you video shows. Not trying to bash you because I am on your side about the run blocking issues, but I want to make sure we look at both games fairly.

i know i follow the designed in both games and in madden the Lineman dont do there assignments. lineman in madden plays search and destroy type logic. they go find people to block. where as in APF they wait to someone comes close to block

i put my 1000 games in APF as well hitman and we actually played each other way back. it was once and you won but anyways i have no problem guys missing blocks but the logic behind APF blocking and defending is better IMO than madden 09.

Exactly why I ran both plays at the game intended. Exactly why in the passing plays I show I dont scramble. You can do alot of things to change how a play is ran.

In the APF video I make it a point to say, hey normally I would jump to the outside, but in a demostration I wont.

Just a quick note, 3 days and over 12,000 views right now. For the most part we have all kept our manners and temper in check. All acted like adults (which I hope we all are), and brought up some valid issues.

Assuming NFLHITMAN comes through, hopefully we can keep this going. Id prefer not to turn it into a "what play is worse" series, but ya never know.

APF run blocking is better without a doubt but the video made it look like it had no mistakes in the run blocking AI. There are a lot of issues still in APF that needs a patch because they are many glitches. I am just calling it what it is.

Madden 09 is the all time leader in Broken AI and Glitches but it was developed by David Ortiz not Ian Cummings.

Ian Cummings has done in one year what no other game developer has been able to do with a football game.

Look at how long it is taking Backbreaker to put out a football game.

You have every right not to trust that Madden 10 will be any good because the history is there to support your theory.

I have faith in Ian Cummings and what I have seen so far not Madden.

i dont think moody intended that to happen. like he said, if true which i believe him, he ran the first two plays of each game and recorded it. this is what happen when u hike for the first in APF, this is what happen when u first hike in madden 09 on a simple inside run

Yeah, I know. I hope Simon comes back early in Madden 11's development cycle though.

If we stop arguing about demons in Madden, defending Madden, 2k, Backbreaker, etc, and trying to convince others which game is better, then this thread will be okay.
