I honestly won't say Madden is the king of anything lol. I'll say I heavily prefer it to All-Pro, but thats only my opinion. I won't bash you for liking APF more

To me it this simple. If Allpro was as good as all these fans say it is it would have sold more copies than it did. Also they would have made another year's version. In the end only a small amount ending up liking it so that is why there is no 2k9/2k10.

Dont get me wrong the Animations in 2k games are Amazing (NBA2k9, Espn 2k5, APF2k8) are all kings of Animations (IMO) And they do animate football well. But the controls/player stiffness ...something about it just doesnt feel right IMO. And that is what people love Madden for IMO.

You can say NFL License but back when there was no License they still was always on top by big #'s so thats just and excuse. Truth is there just isnt that many 2k football fans. I know O.S is probably one of the biggest 2k supported sites around but that is not gonna change that.

so how come madden sales decline every year for next gen? and the statement about not enough 2k fans, 2k didnt have a chance to get FANS. 6 titles and 2 titles was only issued for the dreamcast and dreamcast is like the Wii without the sales.

apf 2k8 has physics and momentum applied to there engine and i always felt 2k8 P/M was applied a little too strong but i also felt like it was necessary because it made USER respect what they playing. ex. 2k5 and madden you can guard a entire field with ONE PLAYER. 2k8 you cant do that, if you dont follow your assignment you cant just simply recover because u change your mind or tried to fake out and u suffer the results from it(JUST LIKE REAL LIFE)

Did you ever stop to think that a majority of games are bought by parents, who are instructed by kids on what to purchase? Because most gaming systems are marketed to kids?

Do you think that parents do anything but buy what the child asks and hope to get out of the store asap.

Do you think those said kids have any clue (much less care) about realism? In most cases, no. They want to pretend to be Tom Brady and chuck bombs to Moss downs 1-4.

Those same kids could care less about the history of the game and the players that came with it. They have zero desire to know or play as Barry Sanders.

APF did not cater to kids, it was not marketed to kids and was not bought for kids. You wanna realistic number of how many "men" (demographically speaking) still play video games, read into the 2k8 sales.

Ill agree with this. There is a learning curve gamplay and control wise that most people dont seem to be willing to go through considering the already complex nature of a game of football.

Its also I think a control preference thing. madden IMO has a tighter control method because it allows you to turn on a dime so it makes it alot easier to play and feels nice. In 2K you can do the same things once you get used to it but you have to finesse the stick a little more than you do in Madden.

I think the 2k pocket flat rattles must new comers to the game and the fact you cant throw the ball anytime you want and expect to see WR's just go after the ball no matter what is frustrating for them.

2k5 and madden you can guard a entire field with ONE PLAYER.

THIS is what people who like to blitz alot want. They want to be able to send the house AND defend EVERY route ALL at the same time. They want to take a saftey or MLB and cover all 3 under zones and bump the WRs to death on the outside, LOL. If they cant do that the game is broke.

You're 100% right, but the gameplay was not the problem, it was the lack of franchise mode.

How would Madden sell with no NFL license and no franchise mode?

Ian Cummings has done in one year what no other game developer has been able to do with a football game.

What is that exactly? I feel like Virtual Concepts did more with the original NFL 2k.
