When i was playing the 5 min demo i found something very reassuring. Chris Wells had two people trying to tackle him from behind and was fighting for that extra yard or two. I take control of TROY P. and do a hitstick (no wrap up, just lowered his shoulder because two guys were already wrapped up) on chriswells and you can hear the helmets hit andchriswells falls back and troy flexs and walks away.


It was an amazing animation and put a smile on my face

pro-tak is a big step forward so I don't think it should be knocked as pointless. Obviously it would be great if it applied to all tackles, but that doesn't mean its pointless......


Pro-tak might be disappointing (to you), but it isn't pointless.

Man,some people are just never gonna be able to be pleased. Pro Tak is something never seen in football games.Gang tackles,pile ons,no other game has had more than 4 people involved in a tackle.It is the one the EA has not done since the jump to next gen consoles:innovation.
Now let me say this:I do see the detractor's point.I wanna be able to pop someone on EVERY tackle myself.I wanna see the gang tackles more violent and forceful as well,because they look too suction like and add on to me.But for you to say what's the point,man how silly can you be.
With the devs on the boards,how about tell them your problems with Pro Tak so they can fix them,and I'm pretty sure years 2,3,4 and so on of Pro Tak will lead to the kind of tackles you want....geez man,these guys.....

While playing NCAA 10 I see a lot more realistic gang tackles in that game than in the 5 minute demo I got. At least in NCAA 10 the player can get pushed backwards when being gang tackled unlike the Demo in which the tacklers and the players just fall straight down to the ground LOL.

There is bigger issues IMO than the Pro-Tak.

1. Where is the Defensive Lock?
2. Where is the player matchups that allow me to assign my top CB to there top WR?
3. Where is the run commit? Are you telling me this isn't SIM?
4. Why do players like Boldin, Ward, and Fitz catch the ball and have it fall out of there hands as if it hit a wall? If you haven't seen this than you should put your game on All Madden and watch these top WR's get a ball wide open and have it hit there hands and fall right out LOL
5. Have you ever played Pong? Why are player bouncing off defenders as if Pong is in the game?

I remember a thread that they said they chose Pro-Tak this year instead of fixing the Running Animations, Momentum and Physics LOL. Everyone acted as if Pro-Tak was the next big thing and now look at everyone LOL.

What is Pro-Tak to you? Does it make for a better game? I don't think so LOL. The running animation, momentum & physics would have made for a better game.

FTR: I like the improvements to Madden and will buy it but the Pro-Tak is worthless along with the other issues I posted.

I don't mean to be an azz, but madden seems like that commercial you always see on tv for direct tv. It is the one with the cable companies are in the board meeting coming up with stupid ways to fool the customer into going with them.

If you have seen this ad, it has to remind you of the way Madden is to it's customers lol

no one is attacking the developers we just calling it as it is...and with this whole Ian said this and Ian said that thing ppl seem to forget that at the end of the day Ian is a pitch man as well he say what he have to say to sell the game.

Well said and right on point. I stated this a while back and received a warning email from OS. Ha, it is all marketing. I would get on the forums and hype up my product also for financial gain.

I'm sure if they improve it next year people will complain. People have been asking for gang tackles for years. I'm glad it made it in and I like it personally.

Saying "It's better to put it in for next year's version so it can be more polished."

Sure man, watch how many people complain when they find out something is missing in this year's version. They will say "Why isn't it in this year's version!?!?!"

This is what they do at EA, they think of what small new features they can add, then hype it up like its really changing the core gameplay.

I've disliked madden for about 4-5yrs now but I really enjoyed playin the demo more than any other madden and possibly the best football game ever nfl 2k5. This madden is not the same as last years madden. I think your exaggerating a little.

i still havent been able to hit stick a pile yet, everytime i get close a tackling cutscene appears..grrrr

i feel your pain bro. that cut scence is really stupid no adult with common sence will like that bs. i hate that cut scence with passion.
