That's not a logical feasible solution. It isn't accurately simulating what happens normally in a Dolphins Wildcat play. There's usually some sort of motion based fake/option involved in the play.

I agrre. It's not a logical, feasible solution because it's not the same thing. I do not, nor do I plan on using a Wildcat team, but it's a legitimate gripe in my opinion. If they weren't going to make the Wildcat work like it's supposed to, then why put it in there at all?

"1.) Wildcat, wildcat. That's all anyone wants to talk about related to the Dolphins. It's going to be a part of their offense again. How much? Last year, it was four percent of the offense, according to coach Tony Sparano. It is not their identity. "It has become our identity, not by our doing," Sparano said. "I think it's people out there thinking it's a neat thing. We'd rather be known for something else, but it's what we're known for now, so that's OK." The Dolphins did draft Pat White in the second round, but White is being used as a quarterback now. When he's on the field, he isn't part of the Wildcat. He's the quarterback. So far in camp, he has been a bad one. He struggles to throw the football, but the Dolphins think he will be a player who plays better in games. We shall see."
Correct...in the pre-season. They didn't want to give away any new formations.

I thought not being able to scramble before throwing out of the Wildcat was just another glitch. Now that I know it was on purpose, it's kind of upsetting. I'd like to be able to scramble, and would definitely not mind seeing at least an option to be able to.

Well, all I can say is, I love when people use the WIldcat online, because it is very easy to stop.

You just have to look at it like this, really though, the company is trying to sell the most games, not make the best game to sell. This is what big companies like this do. Also, how many times have you heard the same spiel about Madden and how this is "The Year"?

I mean, I think everyone appreciates the developers coming on here and listening to us gripe about the game, but, at the end of the day, they really are pretty much at the mercy of the suits who only care about the bottom line. And do you really think those suits give a rat's backside if the Wildcat functions like it does in real life?

Like my Mom used to say, "What you want, and what you are going to get are two different things."

What fun would it be using it on in your offline franchise against the CPU anyway? The AI is not smart enough to know how to stop it so you'd be able to completely destroy them. It'd be way too easy. Most people would get pretty bored of running the same cheese plays against the CPU all the time.

Re: Pat White can't be used correctly, Wildcat won't be patched.

I'd rather not have them have to do a major undertaking to get one formation to work correctly (let alone one player, cry more OP). I think its just as simple as you could probably run those wildcat plays with ronnie brown sprinting to the outside over and over again and the CPU couldnt stop it. If the greatest football minds in the world have had a problem stopping it, how are the Madden developers supposed to program the game to stop it? THe wildcat came into fashion after this engine was created. Im sure it is fundamentally flawed from the ground up when it comes to some of the things you are asking for with the wildcat.

Who knows if the wildcat will even still be in the conversation with NFL offenses next year? All it takes is one play with your starting QB lined up at WR and getting absolutely blown up and hurt, then the wildcat doesnt seem so appealing anymore in the NFL....

There are obviously some issues with the wildcat or they would let you do everything you want with it. Youd really feel happy if they pulled off all the restrictions if it was a money play every time vs the CPU? Whats the freakin point?

Id like to think that as they continue to make the game better, the engine itself will allow for the restrictions to be taken off the wildcat because the players will play smarter.

I feel you, but the decision was made for less cheeze in online play.....M10, unfortunatly, seems to be leaning more and more towards online stuff....Which i hate...Not a SPORTS online gamer, as sports games on average...have the worst community overall. I like the decision, but i dont use the wildcat and i agree with the decision to severly limit the abuse it would cause otherwise. i dont think it should have even been in the game personally.

Also, as a poster pointed out, the Wildcat is such a small portion of a teams playcalling that it is even a wonder they put it into Madden.

And, even though you may not like online, that is more and more where games are headed.

Honestly, if it was implemented properly, people would develop a whole offense around it, which is not very realistic.

I mean, anyone who had an X-Band and played Madden '95 online can attest to how bad it was when they put in the option play with Kordell Stewart running it about every play.

As it is, the Wildcat is really just a gimmick to get the defense off balance and give them something extra to think about (and everybody knows what happens when Defensive players start thinking) and to have to prepare for.

didn't they say they took wildcat out in 09 cause they couldn't fig out how to stop people from exploiting it?

well, what the heck have they've been doing that whole yr to retify the problem? they make ur qb to the icky shuffle.

even though it's not a major part of a teams gameplan why still put it in if you are going to half *** it like online franchise anyway.

same bs, different guy in charge. it's a culture over there people it's hard to change the culture of things when u are set in ur ways.
