I mean really? Thats how you go about defending it from people who question the quality of this game. I guess you wanna ignore the "truth" that the majority of those copies are sold to parents buying them for children. Children who could care less about simulation football and only want fancy graphics combined with a game they can easily win.

Im not sure how you can go from proving your point about video games by using the Constitution and then talking about other peoples reality.

EA has everything at its fingertips to build a world class game, but they dont. You realize the library of NFL footage they have to draw from must be mind numbing?

Go find some non-video game playing people. Show the 2k5 or APF and compare just the animations and nothing else to M10. Then ask them which game was build using one of the largest state of the art motion capture studios in the world.
Yes, I do realize that there is an exclusive license to NFL-based games. I also realize that there is no exclusive license to the game of football generally (See Blitz: The League), and I also realize that just because I want something doesn't mean that I'm entitled to having other people make it for me while I sit back and contribute nothing.

Yes, you pay $60 for it, but that doesn't create a legal or moral obligation for EA to make the game the way you want it, especially when the majority of consumers (parents of bratty children, as you yourself suggest) are perfectly happy paying $60 for the product as is. They put out a product; you buy it; end of transaction.

If you're looking for a perfect NFL sim game and the only product on the market is imperfect, then why are you wasting your money on a product you don't want and then complaining about it? You knew what you were getting into, and if you didn't test it before you bought it, that's your fault.

For the record, I am not an EA fanboy; I hate EA and the stupid exclusive license. But I also recognize that while this product is not perfect, it's worth $60, especially with free patches that can address a number of problems (many of which don't affect me since I don't play online). It's certainly cheaper than the alternative of developing a competing product, and I'm against the position that many on these forums have taken ("do more work for me and increase your expenses in order to accommodate a niche market that has already paid for the product, but charge the same price as you do currently. Otherwise, I'll buy next year's version and complain about that one too.")

Imagine the following scenario: you go into a restaurant and order the top selling dish on the menu. You summon the head chef and tell him that the dish should be perfect and complain that it lacks black truffle shavings and caviar. You tell him the next time you come to his restaurant you expect to see these changes made, and you expect to pay the same price. How realistic does that sound?

Grand Theft and Assassin's Creed have had title updates as well. Not played the rest but I'd be very suprised if they didn't too.
        Yeah.

most of what you listed has had patches. Not to mention the disaster that is/was the PS3 port of the Orange Box.

Games ESPECIALLY on one year development cycles need title updates/patches.

It's actually even worse when the ones that aren't on the 1 year cycles need em.

                LOL!

You are joking right? EVERY single one of those games, minus ODST has had at least one patch. Assassins Creed was barely playable until they dropped a patch for the PS3. Far Cry 2 just recently had a patch. Next time do some research before you open your mouth.

other than ODST, which just recently came out, they all have had patches. some of them had to fix "game-ending" bugs too. ones that would prevent you from finishing a quest/mission. I would call that a glaring problem.

                    LOL...

Oblivion/Fallout STILL don't work right for some people even after several patches, both official and unofficial (microstuttering in the Gamebryo engine). It takes an external script extender program for me to completely eliminate the problem.

                    Bad, bad, example.

Heh, not a very smart man are you. Or maybe you're playing devil's advocate in some bizarre way to pioint out even good games need patches on next-gen consoles?

He is aware of this and should have the fix in for next year. He didn't have the time to adjust all the programming involved for that fix. He was on a crunch to get all the stat fixes done in a timely manner. Every other stat fix will be there though.

I would like to see them do something about Superstar, because so far, this feature is completely lame. This used to be one of my favorite modes to play. PS2 Superstar has more features. My 68 OVR QB was drafted by the Patriots and from day 1 is starting ahead of Brady.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Patch #2 Details Coming Next Week

I don't mind patches at all to be honest. I am glad they can do them, it's just the fact that every year it is something major with the game.

Especially the franchise part, I mean that has been broken for 5 years now. The one new feature they added this year, assisted tackles is BROKEN! lol You say a great feature was added, then when we get the game that feature is broken?!? wtf How does that happen? And the bad part, they tell us they can't fix it till next year.....

It seems every year the famous words are always said by everyone including the developers, "next year".................

I truly hope they lose the license because quality control for this game is really bad. Their innovation no longer exists and their engine is old and outdated.

Maybe if they lost the license they could take a year off and completely (and yes I mean completely) tear apart this game, add a new engine, something that is going to WOW us like they used to do, and go from there.

Are the people that they have now able to do that? To be honest I really don't know. They talk a good game, but so far it has been all talk. They do what they do best, sell sell sell and worry about the details later.

Hopefully falling sales will continue to affect their bottom line and MORE changes will be made.
