That's funny...they ain't changing anything other than the cover art, rosters, and maybe removing a few features that people actually liked. I seriously laughed out loud when I read this post.
Will Madden 12 use the same engine from the previous 6 maddens on 360/ps3?

Yeah, I challenge anyone in this thread who contends that Madden hasn't made substantial progress as a series on this generation of consoles to go back and play Madden 08.
One simply can't make an objective argument that the series hasn't improved by leaps and bounds.Comment

Re: Will Madden 12 use the same engine from the previous 6 maddens on 360/ps3?
Madden 10 was a jump from 09, and Madden 11 was a jump, but not a significant jump, from Madden 10. What's in store for Madden 12 ?
Well, the Detroit Lions, in 2008, went 0-16. In 2009 they won two games and went 2-14, and in 2010, they went 6-10; that's progress, right ?
What's more likely to happen ? Detroit catching up to the rest of the NFC north, and winning the division, or Madden 12 finally catching up to the rest of the sports genre ?Comment

Detroit needs to climb over the Bears and Packers.Comment

For the Madden 12 to finally be on par with the rest of the sports genre, the game-play has to be changed remarkably. The passing needs work, running animations need work,Oline/Dline interaction needs a complete overhaul, the lack of consecutive-hit tackling needs to be addressed, the individuality of players needs to show, franchise mode needs have pratice squads, extended rosters in the pre-season, a functional injured reserve, 53 man rosters, 45 active game-day rosters, and whatever else I forgot to mention.
The Lions have a better shot, in my opinion, of winning the NFC north than Madden 12 has at provided everything that I've listed.Last edited by LiquorLogic; 03-18-2011, 07:59 PM.Comment

Both are pretty tall orders, but I have to disagree here. Teams go worst to first all the time in the NFL. The Lions have a good crop of young talent and with the way things are in the NFL, I think it's more probable that the Lions win the NFC North than Madden 12 being on par with the rest of the sports genre. Madden is too far behind.

The Packers aren't going away. The Lions will keep improving, but the Packers were the last seed in the playoffs and won all the road games. (Didn't even win the division) (Actually, this is going OT, I'll stop this part of it)
My word was it will approach the other sports genre. How far it will approach we don't know at this stage.
Just need to kick back your heels, pull up a chair, relax and wait.Comment

Are they gonna be upgrading any of the features you spoke of in Madden 12? What you mentioned there sounds like the best sports game, not just football game ever.Comment

No one knows anything right now. At best we'll know a few things next week with that video coming out.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

There has been progress, but for me and many other people in the football gaming community, there hasn't been enough progress. There is a lot of people that are die hard football fanatics, but refuse to buy Madden because of the poor "non sim" gameplay.Comment

Also, I disagree with you saying the gameplay is "non sim". Again, it definitely isn't where it should be and if we get the same marginal jump as we did with M11 then I'm probably not going to buy the game, but they've been trying to go in a sim direction since Madden 10.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. I really belive nothing will change until the next group of consoles, and even then I'm not sure. I'm glad I saved my money for the last 4 titles. That's my opinion, Ea has progress in other sports games but not Madden Sorry.NBA:ATLANTA HAWKS

I didn't mean that the game is where it should be, because I'll easily admit it isn't, but to ask "where's the progress?" and act like none has been made is ridiculous IMO.

I've said this earlier, if we were all the same and had the same opinion, it would be a boring place and I wouldn't attend the gaming communities as much.
I'm of the opinion that the game is headed more towards sim(even if 11 was marginal from 10 to 11) in the last few years vs the fast track arcade style of 06-09. I also agree it's not where it should be now, but I blame most of that on the 06-09 period. People still bought those games.Last edited by roadman; 03-19-2011, 10:58 AM.Comment

Re: Will Madden 12 use the same engine from the previous 6 maddens on 360/ps3?
It may have improved in a relative sense, going from really really crappy on "next gen"to just ok. But it's still no where near last gen (game play wise) so in the big picture, it hasn't improved at all. They're still taking baby steps to get back to zero as far as I'm concerned. Believe me, I've tried to like Madden on next gen...it looks fantastic but it's not fun. The game basically plays itself, you call the plays but the control you have over your action on the field is horendous. Guys don't respond to button pushes, you have no (or very limied) control over the pass, the men feel like they float around, you can't play one on one defense and actaully make a play on the ball like you could in last gen....it's one big abortion IMO and in that respecet, they've made no progress.Comment
