I'm sure the hotstreak thing is real, it just might be a part of dynamic progression not roles.

The snowflake means he has a tendency to play well in the snow!! :P Haha, I have no idea. Maybe the field goal, is a new fake field goal. I really think it's a pressure kick though.

If you look closer at the bottom of that snippet, you'll see a graphic overlay come up that isn't the usual scoreboard. I think they may be hinting at a TV style broadcast (maybe not ESPN, but at least something similar) with that bit.

I looked and the thing that pops up or at least the only thing i see is Gameplanning and its attached to the Tease below. But I of course hope youre right. Whatever has been stopping Madden from looking good is beyond me.

I'm not a fan of player roles because that should be reflected in ratings...what does BCV actually do anyway? Seriously. I just notice with low BCV RB's that the o-line just doesn't open holes...

Theres a difference between the weapons icons i.e smart player the light bulb icon AND player roles. Player roles give players personality and does not make them better players. If you hadnt played Maddens 06 thru 08 on ps2 maybe you arent familiar with them but they gave huge depth to Franchise mode. Players on the trade block would get mad Players would hold out. They would tell you when they were playing an old team of theirs and how they wanted to play hard against them. Great stuff.

Nothing that really caught my attention. Quiet honestly was disappointed in the video, but maybe that is just me. I have been the biggest supporter of Madden since they have started, but I think its time they start looking into the MLB 2011 The Show play-book for presentation. I love the NFL, but am sick of the Ultimate Team and the gimmick themes that get thrown at us to make money or attract attention each year . Make it true life football and maybe instead of voting on the cover athlete, which no one really cares about, let us start voting in early February on features and ideas to add to the game. No one cares about the cover athlete....think about all the custom cover out there. It about whats on the disk not what covers the disk...I just beg to stop with the gimmicks...and it hurts me to say all this because I was the strongest backer of EA and Madden but I am sick of the gimmicks...break down and take a page out of MLB The Show and make this the ultimate football experience...not some gimmick called "ultimate team," start with the making the perfect game on the field before you start adding things like this.

Note: This is just my personal opinion at this point in development, EA may surprise me, but I am getting sick of the $60.00 for a new gimmick or two. This is the first year EA is going to have to sell me the game, instead of me just buying based on only NFL game and the name.

I understand you are frustrated. First, Ian wrote to the developers of The Show a few years ago in the their forum here and said they knocked it out of the park with presentation.

Second, I'm not seeing the gimmicks in the teaser. It appears to be TV Style Presentation, which is a step in the right direction, custom playbooks and franchise mode stuff.

I just didn't get the same feeling as gimmicky as you did.

Ah, ok, MUT is gimmicky to you. I don't play or pay MUT, but others do. It's a profitable mode for EA, so, they aren't going to get rid of it.

Player tendencies are really a big deal for me. That alone get me closer to buying the game then anything else has in the last 3 years.

I have to say, that besides MUT (IMO) there really is no gimmicky stuff they want us to see. I passed on Madden last year for the first time since the Genesis days, but I always keep an open mind. The fact that what little amount of info we just got seems more sim/gameplay centric makes me think they are hearing us now.

Only time will tell I suppose.

Agree.. This guy hit it on the nail.. I'm surprised that some are satisfied at what they just saw... It's the same thing every every year.. It's almost like they have to throw in some gimmicks for the lack of serious improvement in gameplay.. imo this teaser video was a good way to hide the same actual gameplay while trying to hype people with a few new features and gimmicks. Thats great, but I think this poster above said it best, "start with the making the perfect game on the field before you start adding things like this." Exactly.. I guess thats what baffles me the most is how can the Dev's continue adding things like gimmicks every year instead of focusing on whats most important, and thats making the game play feal right and realistic?? I don't get it..

And yeah we can say well at least they are headed in the right direction, well thats fine but my concern is how long its taking to get where they are headed.. So far they have been headed in the right direction for 6+ years now.. Whats sad is that NCAA is truley looking like they finally are getting there and they have always been behind Madden.. whats wrong with that picture?? wow.

I may have went over board a little bit with the gimmick thing. All I am asking is stop trying to "sell" me a game with new features....improve the current features and make me want to buy it. I hope that makes sense. Honestly I would cut the Ultimate Team feature and improved on the basic franchise (online and offline). for some reason and maybe it was just me Ultimate Team just rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry folks ain't trying to be negative. I will go back to moderating instead of commenting.
