Whats amazing is that EA really doesn't have to do very much to make a decent halftime show. Use the highlight engine that they already have, hire an actor, and have him do the commentary corresponding to the highlights.

    The end.

Thing is, they don't want to make a "just decent" halftime show. Just decent gets old real, real fast and the same people complaining about them not having one at all will complain about how bland it is (and how "it took 6 years of this generation to give us THIS?!?")

I'm sure that their goal is to far outdo the overrated halftime show of a certain last gen game and if it takes them an extra year to do so I'm confident that it will turn out great thanks to the great strides they appear to have made in franchise and broadcast presentation (visually)

I agree why are we making excuses to why something as basic as a halftime show that was done in 2005, and on prior consoles to take something out and replace it with highlights and its the SAME animations over and over again.
        Is it in you?

They removed it due to lack of interest. I think they realize that they want to go another direction and (this part is my opinion) why use up disc space on something that gets skipped by the vast majority of users.

I'd like to have something to watch during my halftime smoke break, 2K5 was nice man stats of the 1st half, clips of big plays from other teams playing during your game, damn that stuff was money. "never know what your missing till u no longer have it"

Actually, I saw a quote from an interview at E3. They said they weren't happy with Extra Point, so, they gutted it out and will work on it next year.

I'll try to find the quote.

Re: Bad Move to scrap Extra Point/Halftime Show

Where did the lack of interest for a halftime show came from, people have been asking for a decent halftime show for 6 years now. Madden has been neglecting that aspect the entire next- gen era. Even last-gen they really didn't have it, besides the radio show. If u look at NBA2K11, there is no excuse for this, and the reason I said NBA2K11, is that MADDEN doesn't have a competitor in the NFL genre. MLB2k11 and NBA2k11 presentation is the standard for next gen. Even now, MADDEN in- game presentation is below standards, I'm not talking about player intros and cameras. Where is the stats like NBA2k11 show, featuring last year, current year, career, player comparisons in different categories and etc? Madden needs to get this stuff right and it's going on 7 years in the making on next- gen.

I'd never skip it in superstar mode, especially if I was having a good game and getting a replay of that 60 yarder I broke or the TD I punched in before the half. C'mon EA, they should bring it next year man.

Meh. I'm going to be honest, what they did with presentation in '10 was cool for the first week and then it quickly started to tick me off. That is one of the primary reasons why I didn't buy '11 and now that I know they've killed it gives me a reason to buy '12.

I have never watched a video game halftime show, and I have absolutely no interest in ever doing so.
