Re: Some players called by number, not name. Why?
Good good, sounds like a Season Pass issue. The rest will hopefully be tuned in a patch down the line.Comment

EA's commentary is terrible across all their games. Look at the NHL series...same stuff from 09-11 (and probably 12).
I played M10 a lot and the commentary wasn't great. I skipped out on 11 and I'm getting 12.
Even if this is unacceptable, which it is, based on previous EA Sports games (not just Madden) it shouldn't be a shocker.

Should call this the "Secret Agent Man" bug: "They've given you a number, and taken away your name..." Dunno why that popped into my head when reading the thread title.
Yeah, I've heard quite a few numbers yelled out too. Just another part of the "commentary is really, really bad this year" package.Comment

I just see it as no commentary in the demo terrible commentary in the early release version launch day with a patch and that could all changeComment

Re: Some players called by number, not name. Why?
The names that were in last year's game (Madden 11) not being spoken in Madden 12 is almost certainly a bug. These names were not removed. It would've required more effort to remove them. Now the nameID tags within the game might be off, not assigned, whatever, but something is obviously amiss.
The one that bothers me the most is hearing that Gus Johnson is calling Tennessee the "New York" Titans. It's like some kind of bug from last year's AFL DLC.Favorite Sports Teams

I really do think EA has absolutely no unit testing and Q&A at all. But then every self respecting developer knows you should aim to give Q&A no work at all. Of course there will always be bugs, but developers shouldn't accept this as an inevitable outcome, which EA/Tiburon must do because year after year it is just one mind boggling bug after another.
Tiburon devs need to read this book.Comment
