Somebody on another thread says this number calling is also in the retail version, so it def seems like a bug, THAT I HOPE EA is aware of an will be in the release day patch, again I HOPE

Now the nameID tags within the game might be off, not assigned, whatever, but something is obviously amiss.

The one that bothers me the most is hearing that Gus Johnson is calling Tennessee the "New York" Titans. It's like some kind of bug from last year's AFL DLC.
I think this post hit the nail on the head. As do other posts suggesting this is likely a bug.

It just wouldnt make sense to remove certain names of players here and there. Like JohnDoe8865 said; it would have required more effort to remove them intentionally than if this was done by accident.

I feel as though this is definetly a bug, and hopefully one that can be fixed. As long as the sound-bytes are encoded on the disc, they can probably patch it.

Scott Tolzein the backup QB for the Chargers had custom audio for running out of the tunnel from the PA guy. Unfortunately the PA guy refers to him as something called Philip Rivers.

I know this is very slightly off the main topic, but, is there a way to change who your team sends out of the tunnel? As the Browns it sends the "starting wide receiver" and Peyton Hillis. I changed my starting wide receiver to Cribbs but it still doesn't say the name. Regardless, the Browns are very weak at receiver anyway and I'd rather see Colt McCoy if it has to be an offensive player. Is there any way to change this?

is it wierd that roethlisberger's name was said when coming out of the tunnel the first game i played and the second game the announcer said "your starting quarterback". also, is there supposed to be commentary as your quarterback runs on to the field the first time? gus starts talking then quits and it's an awkward silence. same thing happens at the beginning of the second quarter, half time, and third quarter. gus seems like he is going to talk, then gets cut off. let me know if anyone else is having this issue.

I wonder about this because in the first 5-6 games he never talks about the game during intro. Seem to recall someone saying he always talks about how the QB has been preparing or something like that.

I loaded up NCAA and was actually surprised by how good the introduction to the game was as players were warming up on the field. Madden really seems to be lacking here. Maybe the retail copy will be better?

i'm hoping that somehow it is either the season ticket download that is messing it up or something that will be a day one patch that fixes this. i'm actually having a lot of fun with the game, it just feels like there is something that is supposed to be there and it's not for some reason

im confused... so you have to have certain players for the intro to say both names? what happens if one is traded or retires? is anyone else having the issue where there's supposed to be commentary as your quarterback runs on to the field the first time? gus starts talking then quits and it's an awkward silence. same thing happens at the beginning of the second quarter, half time, and third quarter. gus seems like he is going to talk, then gets cut off.

yea i hear that to sometimes he says stuff and sometimes he wont i think thats just how that is no big deal....and yea they only have so many intro "pairs" i guess if one is gone it will just say the starting whatever.....i sent ray lewis to the bear to see what would happend ....he came out with a flag ...no dance ...oh at least w/o him the starting mlb of the ravens didnt do his dance i made sure of that......

Re: Some players called by number, not name. Why?

When I first downloaded the prerelease off Season Ticket and downloaded the very first roster update they had, the one that had the bug in the depth charts for a few teams that made the game lock up. I started a franchise then with the Lions and played like 3 exhibition games before I saw they released a new roster to fix that bug, then I started my franchise over and deleted that other one.

But during those 3 games I played with that first roster I noticed that Mikel Leshoure was getting his named called out on run plays, a rookie RB for the Lions.

But now in my current franchise with the latest roster he is always number 25. I tried some games with the on the disk roster too and same thing he is always number 25. So it seems his name is in the game but its not getting called out for some reason!

There are also a ton of other issues with the stuff Collingsworth says like many people have said in other threads and this one. Lots of times he says the complete opposite of the situation. Like getting a pick 6, he will talk about how your CB went for the pick and left his Safety hanging out to dry and gave up a big play to the offense, when in fact you picked it off and got 6 points on defense!!

Last year and this year if you through a screen pass or short pass out to the RB and then run it in for a TD, he talks about how the defense gave up a big running play for a TD when it was a darn pass!

I mean its bad enough that Collingsworth drones you to sleep and sounds like a monotone moron half the time but do we really have to put up with him being wrong about half the stuff he says too from what really happened on the field.

UGH........ I hate saying this but every year obvious bugs are there and we always have to say, do these guys even test this stuff....

I bet while they are testing they are so sick of hearing the play by play and color comentating they turn it off while they are testing the gameplay and stuff so they don't even know its happening LOL....

Oh ya and is Stephen Tulloch pronouced Tul lock or Too lock? Gus calls him Tooo lock which I believe is wrong. At least his name is being said, even if it is weird sounding.

                              First Name: Number

                              Middle Name: Twenty

                              Last Name: Seven

The reason why they don't say the names has to be because of money, Gus probably wanted too much $$$ to sit in the booth and announce 5,000 names.
