Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Man, I've played more games now, and aside from the commentary this game is really good. I don't know if there are any major glitches yet, but I am thoroughly enjoying franchise mode. If they could just have good commentary I would be in love with this game.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
I disagree. EA planned to address franchise in 12 even before Madden 11 was released. It wasn't heat that made them make these addition. This was planned all along. Next year commentary will be fixed and that won't be a result of the bad press or heat. EA talked about addressing in 13 two months ago.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Hell, just read the thread about how DE's can't generate a pass rush and there are multiple DT's getting double digit sacks and having 5 sacks in one game. Simply not close to accurate. Linemen still relinquish their blocks at the most inopportune times. There are things that clearly aren't ever going to change this gen.
You can call me out for being overly critical of a game that I haven't played the full version of, but I will bet my house that I'll be proven right about everything I'm saying. EA is pretty transparent.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Looking forward to Tues. I am one of the small % that really liked the demo, so the full version I cant wait to play.
As far as the all the negative stuff goes, well...... thats just the way it is, I just picture this commercial and substitute Madden for the word yellow and more realism for the word self confidence.

I'm 50. I got you beat. And games/HD/Dev tools were a lot less sophisticated 30 years ago. (Back in the Hand Held football days, and the PONG Days).
Hardware, Development tools, Development techniques and technologies, and video games have gotten a LOT more sophisticated since then. There is nothing wrong with having reasonable expectations. Like expecting things that were in games 7 years ago, or fixing bugs that have existed in the game for almost a decade. There is nothing wrong with having your expectations a little higher.
It seems like people feel that their opinion of what is good or bad is the truth and everyone else is wrong. That is the main issue, some people feel they should be catered to... Everyone else be damned. The MAJORITY of the people who purchase this game every year enjoy the heck out of it. EA knows that.Comment

No, I haven't. I don't need to to know that O-line/D-line interactions haven't changed and weight and skills aren't properly measured. Same story different year. 2 weeks from now, there will be several people complaining about just the things I'm talking about, and there will be videos on youtube talking about how the devs got it wrong yet again in several key areas.

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
I just call things as I see them. I think people need to get over themselves. It's ok to post things you'd like to be improved. It's ok to like the game. Then post that. The sky is not falling. It's like you think we are all negative people. I'm actually a very glass is half full sort of person which is funny. If Jerry Jones drafts Quincy Carter that's a bad move. If Danny Ainge trades for Kevin Garnett hurray!
I personally think some of you guys hear criticism and it's like the sky is falling to you. If someone likes a game and posts something positive it doesn't bother me. If someone says they don't like some of the way linebackers react in this game, it doesn't bother me.
What do you expect people to talk about? It's a forum for madden. I don't know what you expect. Isn't that what a forum is for? For people to express their likes, dislikes, concerns, enjoyment whatever?
It's when this becomes a personal war and a me vs you, I'm better because I'm positive thing or vice versa is when it becomes a problem. It's stupid.
If you like the game there are many threads on this forum where people like it. Post what you like about it. That's fine. Read the impressions thread. Most of it is positive and are people enjoying the game.Last edited by Celtic34; 08-27-2011, 06:44 PM.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Uh if you want I can show post a video for you showing DE getting way more sacks than dt on a consistent basis. And yes RE gets plenty as well. I'm in year 2 of my offline franchise and ends or olb get plenty of sacks. So actually the ignore button is in effect because until you have played retail version you are basically commenting on things you dont know for certain.
Pressure from the defensive tackles has created more sacks than pass rushing defensive ends. Looking at my franchise stats it is evidenced by Jason Jones leading the league in sacks with 18. I believe in one game a top DT sacked me five times and don’t remember a game with a DE getting more than two. Ends tend to get the QB if they run outside of the pocket but the tackles collapse the pocket. Simulations favor the ends as they should in sacks.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Exactly. So why are people blasting those that are bringing up valid issues?
Really? So you're telling me that my only option is to not buy it? I can't read reviews, some of them written by OS staff, and comment. I can't buy the game and mention the things that are still problems with the game, or new things that are problems with the game? You seriously don't see what's wrong with your stance?
