Excuse the double post but I do believe I just noticed another bug.

Have you tried going back into the Coaching Schemes after the first years draft?

Yes. Are you getting a screwed-up screen where you can barely read what it says?

Yeah, it's like the whiteboard effect. It looks like someone scribbled all over the screen then tried erasing it leaving streaks behind in the process.

That sounds about right. Here's some issues I am repeatedly running into while fixing the draft.

1) Disappearing draft classes. Yes, I know to export the second time it asks, and I know about all the XBOX360 drama. But I haven't heard anyone having draft classes that sometimes work and sometimes don't load. Restarting the game isn't any good. I have to actually restart my PS3 to get the classes to show up again.

2) The issue you mentioned. Going into coaching strategies following a draft gives a very distorted screen.

3) The issue I've just now encountered. Play as one team, then when you get to offseason, control all 32 teams and try to make draft preference changes. It tells me I have to hire a head coach for all 32 teams, even though all 32 teams have a head coach, and I can't even fire them to hire a new one.

4) I swore that I repeatedly saw playoff seeding screwed up...sixth seed hosting fourth seed for example, if the sixth seed had a better record. But once I started tracking it, it was working properly again. I have my eye on you, playoff seeds!

1/2 both just happened to me, I went to load the next years class so I could see what Miami would do and not only did my draft class dissapear from my files list. All of my files did.

Got the next years class to lead, I'm gonna see how the second draft pans out.

How did you get it to load? Did you reload a saved game or start over at the beginning?

Okay, I'm calling it. Switching from 1 team to 32 teams and trying to set the draft strategies DOES NOT WORK. It consistently tells me after eight or so teams that I have to hire a head coach. I can not.

FOR THE DRAFTING STRATEGY TO WORK, YOU MUST CONTROL ALL 32 TEAMS (ALTHOUGH YOU CAN SET ALL OPTIONS TO CPU IF YOU LIKE).

I've had the same issue. I wonder if it's like that ONLY if you start as one team, and then try to control all after the first season. I say this because I can still make the appropriate changes to my original team with not problem, but when I try to control more in the offseason, it freaks out and tells me I have to hire a coach when there is apparently already a coach hired.

I would test it out, but it's my wife's turn to play her video game.

I re-loaded a saved game.


Check this out, second year class.


Niners took a Punter second overall, again another P/K wasn't taken until the sixth round. They didn't have a P/K at all on their roster, immediately filled the voided position over a skill position player of need. There has to be something going on between overall rating/position of need and it's making the CPU take kickers early. Even though they clearly needed one, now wasn't the time to do it.

Eagles for some unknown reason released both Vick/Young....took Tom Savage from Arizona in the first. This is another problem with the AI releasing the wrong players and keeping the UDFA's that have one year deals.

Seahawks took Landry Jones, the guy they took in the previous year Davis had a D overall so it appears they reached and missed. Keenum and Foles on the other hand played well and they passed on both of them. Kind of nice to see the CPU reach on a player and pay the price for it, no?

Those were the only QB's taken in the first 3 rounds. The Dolphins took Trent Richardson with their first pick. There were still QB's with 1/2 round grades that were getting passed on so it appears what you've done is working well for the most part.

The Browns have built their offense around McCoy, they got Criner, and Blackmon in the first class. And Stoneburner in the second. It's pretty much the same thing across the league. The only real problem are these fake UDFA's.

Let me guess: It's the Giants that are screwing you up?

It has to do with the teams whose head coach contracts are up... The Giants and Jags are who I remember off the top of my head for the first years offseason. It will only get worse after each year the more and more coaches contracts run out, the team "replaces" them, but you can't change anything regarding scheme because they, apparently, don't have a HC (which is BS).

But, like I said, it's only for the teams I try to switch to... the team I controlled from the get go has had no problems (I've simmed into year 8). I've been able to sign a new HC twice now with them and had no problems adjusting scheme.

I wonder if you start your franchise controlling all 32 teams if the issue will still persist. Controlling all 32 to start off is pretty much a necessity anyways since so many teams release high round players in the preseason anyway (Muhammed Wilkerson, Shane Vareen, ect).

See, I started my franchise controlling all 32 teams changed their priorites during the season, then switched back to my main team at the Sign Staff screen in the off-season.

I haven't encountered the bug the two of you are talking about.

What system were you on when you got the bug?

I have a PS3 and he plays on 360 and we have both had the issue. It has something to do with a HC vacancy. Eventually, you wont be able to switch to control any team besides your original one because it wont let you adjust their scheme.

EDIT: Err... NVM I guess we are both on PS3.

It's the Giants specifically. All other teams are affected by the bug after you try to open the Giants screen. Using all 32 teams from the beginning DOES work, however. That's how I found this fix in the first place.
