Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
Here is what I did. I controlled all 32 teams, auto re-order every depth chart and before even playing the first preseason game, I cut the 4 lowest rated players from each team. But only punters, kickers, WR's, RB's and QB's. Don't cut any defensive players. After that's done, sim the entire preseason and go to week 1.
And here comes the annoying part. Go to mylads.com and go through every teams depth chart and roster and manually fix every team. This took like 2 hours and but I think I got the rosters as accurate as you're going to get them. You might have to change positions for some linemen.Comment

Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
The shame of it is I was so immersed in my Franchise, and having to take a 2-day timeout just to edit hundreds of players really takes away from it.
I'm pumped to finally get it done so I can dive back into my franchise (having my new draft picks waiting for me is brutal -- like when you're a kid and your friend if outside your house but you can't go play until you finish your homework or something). And I know I'll go right back to loving it once I get back into the swing of things. But then I know I'll be getting antsy late in the season when I feel the next offseason coming on, knowing I'll have to go through another painstaking process like this.
Out of curiosity, if I go with 32-team control next offseason, exactly how hands-off can I be? How much can I trust the CPU to handle things for the other 31 teams I don't really want to bother with?Comment

Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
Something I wish I'd thought of earlier...
I wish, during the draft, I didn't sim to the end after my final pick. If I was smart, I'd have kept watching so I could jot down all the kids who went undrafted (so I know who they are and, once they land with a new team, I don't lump them in with the fake undrafted guys by changing their positions to punter). The draft recap doesn't give that info, I don't think. Would be nice to know which undrafted guys went undrafted in the actual draft and which are just generated mopes to fill out rosters.
I might have to make a habit of trading for the last pick in the draft from now on so I can take my time and write down the guys who are leftover from the draft class.Comment

So eventually which is the best way to get rid of this "glitch"?
To user control all 32 teams or to change the UDFA's position? Now playin':
Madden 22 with Cleveland Browns
NHL 22 with Las Vegas Golden Knights
NBA 2k22 with Golden State Warriors
FIFA 22 with FC BarcelonaComment

Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
That's weird. I changed all the $310k UDFA's to punters last night, it took me about an hour. I was in week 2 of preseason, so maybe 4 per team had already been cut. But I can't imagine that it would have taken hours to only go halfway?
Sort by salary, go to a $310k player, click the left stick (on 360), then change the position. Am I doing something wrong?Comment

Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
Clicking the left stick takes me to the Player Details screen (traits, stats, awards) where I can't edit anything. To edit the guy, I have to go to a different screen, which takes longer to load, making me wait a few seconds each time I go in and each time I save to exit (maybe it's slower on PS3 since you can't play the game off the hard drive like on 360?).
And not only am I changing a dozen or more rookies per team, but I'm having to flip around the positions of other guys just to keep the team above the minimums at positions, or else it doesn't let me change the other guy's position to punter. So it's probably something near twenty edits per team, plus the time to investigate to make sure I'm editing the right guys.
Because you can't just sort by salary and dump everyone with a 310k salary,. There are guys who were actually in the draft class who got signed to deals for 310k salaries. And I try not to dump them since I consider them real players if they were part of the actual scouting/draft process (not like the phony guys conjured from thin air just to provide cut day fodder). So I have to check whether guy was drafted or not before changing him.
So, yeah, it takes longer than you're describing. And on top of that, it's so boring that I can't focus entirely on this, so my attention is split between these roster shenanigans and a few other things I've got on my radar. But even if I took some Attention Deficit Disorder drugs and completely focused only on these roster edits, it would take much longer than an hour. Maybe the 360 just loads that much faster, I dunno.Comment

Re: I May Have Found A Good Solution For a 1-Team Franchise.
I just have one question that concerns this glitch....so the cpu decides to keep a UDFA that has apparently a bigger ovr than a veteran..but after the cut days if this player is kept his ovr will be the real one (lower than before)...so..my question is: the next year...isn't this player gonna get cut because now his ovr appears exactlly? Now playin':
Madden 22 with Cleveland Browns
NHL 22 with Las Vegas Golden Knights
NBA 2k22 with Golden State Warriors
FIFA 22 with FC BarcelonaComment

But I imagine his roster spot gets taken next year by a whole new class of generated undrafted deadweight players... who will proceed to do just like he did, tricking the CPU into cutting a better player to keep them because their mystery OVR confused the computer.
On top of which, perfectly useful, reasonably priced journeyman types sit wasting away in free agency. The computer should just sign them to fill their rosters so they don't need to take on so many undrafted bums.Comment

Yep lol. I'm gonna start my franchise over anyway, since my slider set was a tad too easy the first few games. I'm just gonna deal with all the UDFAs this time though.Comment
