I think the house analogy is fun because everyone knows what is in CCM looks amazing... but the little we just expect to be there, aren't.

Big FN Deal - You might just see the "wiring" differently than I do. The wiring coudl be 32 team control for one player or editing of players, or about anything that we expect to just be part of the package deal and are flabbergasted that it isn't.

What's fun about the analogy is that you can apply it to many facets of Madden. For example - in my little play on words, I was thinking of gameplay flaws. See? This is a new fun game for all Madden players to enjoy!

      lol...

Yeah, the thing I don't get is that they said they don't want to add anything into the game that isn't complete, yet this whole CC mode is incomplete with multiple features removed until they can implement them...

So why didn't they just wait until next year to make the switch from Franchise to Connected Careers...? As long as walk on FAs & FA itself was tuned while still oblivious to CCM coming, it would have been fine by me and I think a lot of others.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

Can I live without fantasy draft? Yes. I haven't even used it in Madden 12 yet, though I want to soon.

Can I live without importing draft classes? In favor of story lines? Sure. Imports didn't even work right in the past, so I'm not missing too much. If I want real players in Madden 12, I can just EDIT the hand crafted rookies.

Can I live without offline co-op play? Well I van right now because of my situation, but if I were still back at home in the States, NO.

Can I live without custom play books? Well, I am using my custom play book exclusively in Madden 12 and used my game plan exclusively in Madden 11. I don't want to go back to Madden 10 [two steps back.] I was hoping the big news was Creat a Play/Foramtion, not the removal of custom play books. WTF?!?

Can I live without 32 team control? I never did this, but I did and still do control 2 teams... and twice before in the past I had an 8 team franchise were I controlled one team in each division. So, can I live it out it? Yes. Do I want to? No.

Can I live without full customization of rosters and no editing of players in CCM? No. Most certainly not. I have ALWAYS customized my rosters, changed equipment, jersey numbers, changed positions, something and everything when allowed. Heck, I would change hair cuts when I was allowed, and if I was again. In Madden 07 [PS2 era] most all players, including Frank Gore had "close crop" hair that might look normal on some white guy, but most NFL players have some kind of buzz cut or fade, or are bald.

Can I live withoutplaying games except those of the ONE team you select for CCM? No. Most certainly not. This and the above are my top two reasosn why Madden 13 went from VERY exciting to me... to a game I couldn't care less about. I can't play the Super Bowl? I can't play that BAL@PIT game on MNF? I can't play Jets/Pats? Bears/Packers? Giants/Cowboys? Screw that. No thanks.

I only bought Madden 12 in Feb and while I have had some ups and downs with it, I am just diving into franchise mode that that I am like 95% done with my sliders.

Madden 13: New engine and all the control from last year = win
Madden 14 :CCM and more misc. improvements = win

Madden 13: New Engine + CCM and complete loss of all control = fail

How could you not put this on a board at a planning meeting as see how much sense it makes. You have two years of back to back wins for the title and happy customers.

While I agree with your overall premise (EA's planning was poor), to be fair, if they leave CCM out this year then the control offline gamers had in 12 would be there, but online players would be left in the cold. So, all that would really be accomplished is that a different group of gamers would be upset on here. I don't think that's a fair alternative.

I think the issue is more how EA prioritized what should be the core aspects within and surrounding CCM rather than the implementation of CCM itself.

If they did nothing to online and offline franchise for 13 the threads would be much larger and much more active than any of this no editing/importing stuff has resulted in.

Yeah I keep hearing how we have a say so and really we don't. Now a smart business plan is make consumers happy but apple leaves stuff out all the time and add later and they are huge! Only thing we have is the option not to buy and with the house analogy...all of those things were known before you purchased and you still buy it?

Numbers and equipment should be in though.

Ok this is perfect because I'm totally in the dark with what changed for online people. Can you tell me how CCM benefitted online because I have no idea and thats not a joke or me trying to be funny at all. All i know is how much was stripped out and I really don't know what positives have been made for online.

                    Thanks in advance

Online finally gets a mode that is equivalent to offline. Scouting, salary cap, free agency, contracts and draft pick trading. All of which seemed standard for off line had been missing since the mode went online.

Sweet.......WTF took so long for that I wonder? I'm glad that stuff got added in and I'm really happy that the focus going forward will be to enhance the user experience for both online and offline in a consistent fashion through CCM.

In addition, the electricity will only light half of the house. If you're lucky, we'll come back mid year and light the other half. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until next year. With these great improvements, the house is really headed in the right direction as far as being compared to all of the other houses in the neighborhood.
And if we put electricity and plumbing in there's a chance the house might explode. Its just not a risk where willing to take.

Except you would have a chance to rebuild the house before any families come to buy it...

You know...I play both and I think they are sacrifices for the greater good just like even adding online was instead of improving offline a while back. I have to trust that time was the problem but I do believe that multiple offline users, editing equipment/numbers, importing and using custom rosters for CCM should be in the game for on and offline. Editing ratings inside this new mode I feel breaks the mode's intent. I stopped buying a lot of games because they became online only as a multiplayer experience.
