As I said...if you are a young guy with a lot of time on your hands...then this is probably a big issue for you. If you are an older guy such as myself, with a wife, a family, and a house to take care of (as are all of the people I know who play this game) then its a very small issue. Just wanted to make that clear. -

I think you're attempting to make editing out to be some type of huge time consuming thing in your mind and thats a total joke. Maybe someone invests two hours into editing before they start a franchise and then an hour or so before every season to edit rookies.
Editing doesn't have anything to do with how old you are or how much time you have on your hands and it has everything to do with how invested you want to be with your own experience with the game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
I'm a grandfather, have a wife and 21, 19, 13 year old children. Part of why this is a huge issue with me is the way it alters the way my family has played madden for as long as I remember. Your statement is insulting, and broadly generic. There's only one other person here at OS that I think is older than me (j/k) and he's 50, and he has also commented in favor of the return of these "very small" missing features.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
I'm in my 50's, I edit rosters, I won't buy Madden without editing capabilities, and I didn't find his statement to be either insulting or generic. It's probably very close to the reality, c'mon now. It's a kid's occupation, let's face it.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Agreed.......I feel like next gen Madden has been a complete Frankestein like effort and it lacked direction. I hope someday someone takes over at EA that has great vision and takes both NCAA and Madden in a better direction than its gone the past 6 or 7 years. I think the standards at EA with NCAA and Madden have been terrible and way too many things just slip through the cracks or just get completely ignored and end up in the game. The NCAA import from last year is a great example of how low the standards have been IMO.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Like I said, when you compare Madden NFL 12 to real life and look at every part of the core gameplay, you would think it's an arcade based game not trying to be realistic. Like Franchise408 said, it just isn't a competent game of football gameplay wise. It's almost pathetic how unrealistic it is, going from the movement of the players, to liberty we have with audibles and offense/defensive hot routes, to how bad the challenge system is, and the slight lack of penalties. After 7 years, of Next-gen, I don't EA will release a competent game of NFL football. I know Josh Looman is moving in a "good direction" with Madden, but the decision making of this team might scare me. I mean online multiplayer CC but no offline multiplayer CC?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Truly the "...too much time on our hands" comment was another big contradiction thrown at us who want our beloved editing features back. Why? Because the time it's going to take to do thousands of practice sessions for XP points that you "hope" are going to allow your players to progress properly, it will take exponentially longer to achieve results compared to just having a full, quick edit option and/or sharing other edited rosters to use in-season.Last edited by cuttingteeth; 06-19-2012, 03:01 PM.I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Yeah this gen of Madden has been mediocre at best. Simple as that. I do, however, think they are going in a good direction right now. Focusing on career modes and gameplay. I think they really just did not realize how important those features they took out were. That's why Looman called them "little things". He just did not know. Hopefully he puts all that stuff in next year along with some new things and we get that great madden before all the new consoles launch. (this may be me wishing because this would delay me from having to buy a new console). We shall see friends.Comment
