I am not referring to people being rude though, I guess I am more so referring to the attitude that Looman "owes us" more than what he has already done. Familiarity breeds contempt comes to mind when thinking about this. Looman has told people what will not be in the game, given his explanation and POV on it so I don't see what more people expect from him. He is not some elected official or something and it's not like the game is even out yet and people bought it before finding this out.
I understand the disappointment and know all too well how it feels but this tweeter stuff about Looman is being blown out of proportion, imo.

No, that's not what I said at all. You are so hung up on the online vs. offline that you are choosing only to see what you think you want to and not what I am saying. I have never advocated one over the other. I was always pushing for a united experience where there was simply a franchise mode and you could play online with friends or by yourself. Everything should work the same.
I'm not going to argue with you because it doesn't matter what is said here, you will continue to feel that your mode is all that matters and the reason why you lost what you liked was because of the "online" community. I'm here to tell you that is not correct, but that doesn't matter because you are hell bent on seeing it how you want to.
TAKING AWAY FEATURES FOR ANY GAME MODE SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. PERIOD.
It has nothing to do with online or offline or the facet of the game that it was taken from. It should not occur if it doesn't have to. It will continue to happen when only one game is being produced. The only reason why some folks like Big and a few others brought up the online crowd and how we felt was to let you know that there are others who do not play the game the way you do that can empathize with you. Instead, you are looking at it from the "I told you so" point of view. Couldn't be further from the truth. When things are absent from the game after they were there, it affects people the same way. Your situation is not unique to what Tiburon has been doing to many other football gamers for years. It does not make it any more acceptable regardless of the piece of the game that was removed.

Honestly, I don't see it happening at all. If it doesn't I will never buy it."Okay, here's the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education... but that's okay. I know the street, and I'm making all the right connections. With the right woman, there's no stopping me. I could go right to the top."

'12 was a letdown and I haven't play it nor NCAA just because of the pass trajectory issues. I did more raging than enjoying myself.Comment

If I was a betting man I'd say 95% chance they won't because I think for some absolutely asinine reason CCM was already in development without a lot of stuff taken into consideration and its gonna take EA an entire game cycle to wipe the egg off their face and get things back on track. This is gonna be a nightmare release of epic proportions I think.Comment

I believe the bitterness stems from a few days back when there was a lot of info that was known (no editing, no 32 team control, no fantasy draft...) but as a community, was very hard to get...at this point...it's water under the bridge.
There have also been some bold accusations made towards those who tweeted, that they were...childish, rude, horrible...blah blah blah.
While that may be true...it is completely unsubstantiated gossip at this point.
All of the tweets that were posted on this site...thus far...were completely acceptable an in the spirit of collecting genuine information.Comment

I agree at this point in time...

--What?? lol, not really, I actually agree with you're stance. I'm not sure you're reading my post correctly to see where my problem lies. I have no problem with online, at all. However, online franchise functionality had a lot to do with the reason offline was stripped. I do believe that. And my posts are more directed towards the perspective of Big's post, especially #503, not yours. I responded to you directly, but only with the first part. And like I said, you didn't say it, but it was said. Meaning I'm not referring to you.
That being said, I think we can definitely agree on the fact that the taking away of things we used to have is really getting old, and we are ALL tired of it.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
I see your point to an extent (in the sense that online gamers have gotten a raw deal in the past), but whose chickens, exactly? Some ignorant posters? I'm sure I could find "offline franchise is dead" type comments by people advocating online league focus. Every time someone has a gripe about AI, logic, or franchise, there's always people who will say "then stop playing the CPU...". I just don't think that proves much other than that's the nature of message boards, unfortunately...people generalize and "take sides" to make points. In any event, the point is that some single-minded gamers on either side shouldn't be central to anyone's rationale on why this is or isn't okay.
I also don't dispute that online guys have gotten it worse over the years at all (THAT, is a 100% valid point). Nor am I saying you, or anyone else who isn't impacted by these limitations should care or feel sorry, etc. People care about what they care about...it's all subjective. But do you really think offline players don't know what it's like to be limited? We just got back some of the features we had for years in 12 and that STILL doesn't equate to where Madden should be or even was at one point.
Point being, with Madden, no one has really "won" for quite some time. If we come together on any point, it should be that Madden has failed to strike a balance for their consumers and there shouldn't be any reason to have "sides" in the first place. CCM may indeed remedy that in the future, but IMO, where EA dropped the ball is that rather than bring everyone UP to the same standard of control and options, they simply lowered the bar. That's why I'm disappointed in 13. We'll see how it goes in the future though.
BTW, I'm not coming at you or anything. Again, I see your points...I just completely disagree with your rationale that I needed to learn my lesson...lol. Let me also clarify that I'm not advocating that they should have not done CCM at all, because then we'd be in the same loop of issues (and online players would be left in the cold again, which simply shifts the problem to a different group). My point is this process of having to sacrifice from one thing in order to pay for another in this series has gotten pretty old.
If the unified community and EA/Tiburon had focused on combining the modes before upgrading the offline Franchise mode last year, we likely wouldn't be in this situation where offline franchise gamers have lost some features to gain others and online franchisers have gained far more than they ever had but we all lost out on options.
Also my rationale is not just that offline gamers learn a lesson by having to be subjected to what online gamers have but that they now realize one CCM is the best thing for everybody going forward, so hopefully none of us have to go through "famine" again.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
What I find funny is when guys like myself have been saying for years. I am not buying Madden till they make some big innovations, fix the passing game, fix WR/DB interactions, etc etc. You would have many of the same guys talking down to you "Just enjoy the game, it is a VIDEO GAME!" and comments of that nature. Then those same people get a feature removed such as "editing equipment" and the tides have turned. Yet the "gameplay" part is more important because it is the part you play the most!
Now I am the one talking good about Madden saying they did good work this year fixing many of the gameplay elements that have always prevented me from enjoying the game. Added Physics, fixed the passing game, playaction can be aborted, no more psychic defenders, etc etc! I have always been more of a gameplay person so the on field stuff matter 10x more to me.
I do agree editing should not have been removed. I just find it funny how people pick their "extremes" of what is worthy of not purchasing.
I can zig zag all over the field.........."ehhhhh its just a game, I will enjoy it"........"Wait, I can't put sleeves on my QB???? No not purchasing game killer"Last edited by Phobia; 06-12-2012, 05:49 PM.Comment
