Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
Twitter feeds and newspapers are fun, sure, but in no way do they add any depth to franchise mode.
Getting twitter feeds is not worth losing custom playbooks, player editing, offline multiplayer capabilities, realistic progression.
This year's franchise mode, or Connected Careeres, i feel is a huge step back. Online got upgraded, and that's great, but twitter feeds aren't nearly enough to make this better than what we had.Comment

Twitter Feeds wasn't responsible for letting go of the above mentioned franchise modes, but I'm sure some people feel that way.
Offline got upgraded too, and unless you have played HC09, you don't know what CC is all about at this time. Yes, some features were not added back in franchise mode, but you can't say offline didn't get a boost with HC features, either.Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
Well, people have stated before they loved Tony Bruno and newspapers in previous Maddens and I'm sure those same people that loved them back then, will love Twitter feeds as it is basically upgrading what we have in 2012 vs 2006.

Road, how ironic is it that CCM is something I find absolutely outstanding? lol. Gameplay improvements would make me much happier though. If they can fix that zig zag running and DE pass rush, I'd probably be psyched to purchase Madden 13.Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
With everything that has been announced for M13 so far, I am still on the fence about purchasing it. It seems like for every good thing such as CCM, there are a couple of things taken out of the game and added under the "next year" conversation. At this point I just want a complete game in terms of strong gameplay and presentation. Like the Twitter Feeds, but I need the zig zag running and throwing off back foot for 80TD bombs to be out of the game at this point. Also I'm not sure how great the infinity engine will be...but I look forward to seeing it in action...“What’s better than one billionaire? 2.....”Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
How do people get twitter feeds addition took away editing and such? I say it takes A LOT longer to add editing, ncaa import, etc then it did to implement the twitter feeds..
Just using that as something to blame.Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
I like the twitter feeds. I do want something more a long the lines of articles though. That is, if we cant get a weekly update show (I gave up on this).Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
I think people have been theorizing that there are built in Hard Coded Storylines in CC Mode that are scripted to happen....and any type of editing would go against those scripted moments...screwing up their timingHere We Go Steelers!!! Here We Go!!!

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
In other words, some people are claiming that CCM will be the deepest experience and have mentioned the twitter feed and stories as part of that depth.
Others are contending that Twitter and stories don't necessarily make up for the loss of control, customization, etc.
In other words, the underlying point isn't really about programming (at least, I don't think it is for most people), but that the "depth" of CCM in 13 is subjective.Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
I don't think I'll buy Madden 13 this year, or for at least $60. No Offline Co-op with my bro really hurts.
Along with the fact that Pass Trajectories and RTP won't fix the numerous gameplay issues:
o-line/d-line|blocking A.I.
Zig-Zag Running|Running Animations|Throwing Animations|Player Movement/Acceleration
A.I
Connected Careers mode seems awight (however you spell it), but no offline co-op and XP/RPG elements doesn't interest me for the COACH portion for some reason. The legends are only available in their rookie forms, with the rookie rosters. IF I could be M13 for like $20, I wouldn't mind at all. But that would probably take until Black Friday. And I don't have a EA pass/ticket whatever.
I don't want to STICK WITH MADDEN 12 THOUGH!!Comment

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
Yeah, I'm getting it. I don't buy many games but Madden (sports in general) is a game a can keep coming back to, just because I love the sport of football (regardless of how it's being implemented). CC sounds perfect for me; more in-depth story driven and having goals to accomplish. I don't edit players and control all of the teams. I play buy myself or with a few friends online in a league but other than that, it works perfectly for me.Bleed Green 24/7... EAGLES!!

Re: Madden 13: Buy or No Buy
My beef with twitter feeds is essentially what soxfan stated - its just not a necessary addition and does not add more depth to the mode.
I don't understand why I need storylines... I'm playing Madden NFL, not WWE '13.
The only storylines im worried about are a teams run to playoffs / Super Bowl and individual accomplishments, nothing that requires a twitter implementation to accomplish.
The time it took to implement twitter feeds could have been used to implement custom playbooks and player editing. Adding twitter feeds but not gameplay depth options to me shows a clear lack of focus on the developers part, again showing why I don't have faith in EA to release a competent NFL video game, because they are more worried about twitter than they are in fixing the issues of the actual game.Comment
