Yes, I say push the date back and give these guys time to make a complete game. Or maybe even come out every 2 years and have roster updates in between. Kinda like the Call of Duty or Hitman cycles. That is why those games are so freakin awesome! They take years before they make a new one, unlike Madden where they are rushing to get the game out before the season starts. Oct. 16th's patch version of Madden is the one I wanted on aug. 28th, I can finally have my Db's with no socks, mlb with dark visors, etc etc. May be corny to some but I love changing equipment, and I cant wait to hike up T.Pryor's rating to at least a 76 and take him to a super bowl with my Bengals. Gonna be good times!

Really you think COD comes out every 2 years? The thing they do is said a few post below you when he said having two development teams working in tandem. That's what COD does, Treyarch and Infinity Ward both put out COD games every 2 years for their cycle leaving it to be a COD game every year.

However I don't know if the 2 dev team cycle would work with a sports title like this but let's say they do something like this Madden 14 comes out done by the same team as now and then maybe EA's NFL Football comes out the following year catering to a different audience maybe they go a sim or head coach route maybe they go blitz I'm not trying to start that debate on here but then the dev teams can support their own game and make quality games and people would still have a new game every year. It would also allow for roster updates for the new season. They could share in the engine and it would also allow one team to make a new engine when they see fit to do so also they could share on A.I. and any other information they wanted.

EA makes millions each year off Madden. They could have spent a little more money and hired more programmers and testers to finish CCM properly by giving it all the features of last year's franchise mode. Rather than a dumbed down product. Not to mention all the other various problems, dumb AI, bugs, etc. I hope they start development now on M14 and hire more people to reprogram the AI and add in all the missing features of Franchise in CCM.

Alot of people are complaining but ive never seen the type of support this game is getting on any other game. Josh is doing a great job trying to make people happy but some people will always be haters

This patch is fixing things that should have been fixed on DAY ONE

The proper CCM roster hasn't even been released yet, how many weeks has the game been out?

There are so many missing features compared to M12 especially in CCM vs Franchise, it's downright embarrassing.

Yes the game is more fun to play on the field, but there are major problems that should have been addressed. Go read the CCM and bug threads and tell everyone they're just "haters"

I mean I'm no rocket scientist, but couldn't they just have TWO development teams working in tandem with one team releasing one year and the other team the next? That would give each team a two year development cycle, more than enough time to create a decent game, or at least better than we have now. Waiting until October 16th to be able to play the main feature of a game released in August is piss poor at best. Now obviously the teams would have to share the engine and there would have to be some sort of contact between the two teams on a regular basis to keep things running right but I think it could at worst give each team a few months more time to get it right at release.

It works with CoD because a game like that can be switched up every oher game. Use the same game engine, but different story, features, etc..

This just wouldn't work with Madden. It has to be consistent. It's a game representing real life. Two different developers changing things up every year would just ruin the game. Same thing happened to the NFS series. Too many developers got involved.

I just wouldn't like that.

Not an EA cheerleader, believe me ive had complaints and taken them to twitter, but i see the support that they are giving the game unlike so many other games ive bought and get no support. As long as they continue to try and fix the things we want ill be happy. I understand there are major bugs that are in the game and they need to fix them but some people complaining about the color of the grass . Also no need for you to come on a board and try and insult me because i gave my opinion tough guy. The forums are about giving our opinion and they dont all have to be the same.

I think CCM is light years better than franchise ever was. Again my opinion. Yes they should have left in editing and assistant coaches and some of that but they are fixing it in the patch to be able to edit and with the new engine I think they ran out of time but honestly I would rather have this game then the stale old madden that we have been playing for years. So as long as they keep working on it Ill be happy because the last few Maddens have truely sucked and got boring way to fast.

Not to sound negative or as a random troll but it doesn't matter how much time the team has if they aren't focusing on making a sim oriented game. If they did that complaints would quickly turn into, "We waited two years for this?!" and we all know it will. One year is plenty of time to correct the deficient ideas if a solid plan is in place. Right now they seem to have a mentality circled around the game being close to real and fun. What they don't seem to understand, or at least give us hardcore sim guys the impression, that a realistic game is fun. They have at least one game under their company's umbrella (Fifa) who understood that and went for realism and they're succeeding. We constantly blame 'the suits' but I just think its the overall plan that the Madden team has installed that is the problem. I bet most of the guys in that studio who play the game do not play the game in a realistic manner -- they want all the big plays and hits.

All we can do is to continue to push the sim movement but I think a lot of guys don't have enough in the tank to continue another 5-10 year push. Thankfully sim is a lifestyle so it won't die but I don't think we'll get closer to realistic when it comes to EA football -- maybe sprinkles and thats it. We have to lower our expectations. This is EA football. This is our great Circle of Gaming Life.

It's true, EA makes millions, but they are going to put as little $$ as possible back into madden. EA is a Corporation like any other corporation, the $$$ goes into the pockets of big shot EA exec's. Big $$ bonus for them. Also, the NFL rights was not cheap. They want to recoupe that cost and double or triple that money back.

I'm just assuming here, I don't know for sure if EA does this, I used to work for a big tech company(IBM) for 20+ years, but they might prob even outsouce some of their stuff overseas(Cheap labor). Maybe some programing/administrative work. IBM does this all the time, how I lost my job!..lol I'm retired now..but it's the way it is now a days with big corp.

IBM made tons of big $$$, but they always cried poverty and rarely gave us peons raises or bonus.

I hope I'm wrong about EA, but it just reminds me of my old job. And I love this years Madden too !!..lol

I'll disagree with this half way, yes I think it's good they put them back in but honestly I don't understand how some of these things get taken out. Why was couch co-op not available from day one when you can play 2v2 in play now? Editing player's numbers should have been in on day one if they didn't even change numbers for you prior to a patch which they do now but it was possible to have duplicate numbers on the same team. I'm all for taking something out like importing draft classes for the reason they gave with not having stories in NCAA but I can see where some people would say let me have an option to not use your stories and to use my draft classes, I know not everyone agrees and it is a must have for next year but I'm never a big fan of taking away things that have been in the game for years or that keep getting put in, taken out, put in, taken out its not a fun cycle. To me it feels like a lot of what they had in Madden 12 was thrown out for no good reason.

I am happy that the features are returning and I also agree they should not have been taken out in the first place, but when redesigning a game completley as EA has done with the new IE and the CCM (Which is awesome btw) it is hard to keep some of the things that are in the previous versions. I am sure that all the programmers were spening all their time writing the code for the new features and dint get to the existing ones that were left out. But now they have them ready to go so we can all rejoice.

The problem this year is they made a big change from franchise to CCM. It seems like all resources went into that and as a result came out with an incomplete game but a new generation of CCM for the future.

So Damn true...I for one know i wont sit through another 8 years of mediocrity. And im sure many others wont either. Like i said in the Attention to detail thread, If TIburon dont produce something on par with NBA2K/FIFA/The Show next gen they are in for a world of hurt.

But sadly i dont think they will. Like you said its in their culture to produce what we have now. If the people actually programming the game think it looks and plays great its what we will always get...Especially since there isnt any other option for Football gaming. Wouldnt be the case if there was another though, see 2K and Live.

One thing ive always wanted to do though, is sit down with one of the EA devs and school them in SIM FOOTBALL. Alas that will never happen, because "This is EA Football. This is our Great Circle of Gaming Life".

We were told by Josh Looman the features were taken out, not just for the sake of being taken out, but because they didn't work with the new code at release time.

I am excited for the new 10/16/2012 update. It will be great to use custom rosters in CCM. I can now have a CCM for a stacked team, terrible team with noone over 75 OVR, and a normal CCM where I try to run it realistically. This will be so much fun.
