Everyone here knew exactly what they were buying when they purchased madden 13. Any educated customer had the ability to research what features were included at the time of buying. You werent cheated of anything. For ea to support and add anything on top of that should be considered gracious. All the complainers need to quiet down and just say thanks for listening to everyone's desires and including them in a future patch.

all EA had to do is add the Infinity Engine and keep everything else the way it was and this yrs Madden wouldve been amazing- my big concern is when PS4 comes out are they going to do what they did when PS3 came out and gut the game and we are right back at square 1! that would suck!

          Serious.

He already told us why they weren't included in the final build.

That would give each team a two year development cycle, more than enough time to create a decent game, or at least better than we have now. Waiting until October 16th to be able to play the main feature of a game released in August is piss poor at best. Now obviously the teams would have to share the engine and there would have to be some sort of contact between the two teams on a regular basis to keep things running right but I think it could at worst give each team a few months more time to get it right at release.
the game would vary to much every year one would be an originalmadden while the other would be a totally different variation

That has been proposed many times, and it makes some sense if you think about Call of Duty and the alternating developers they used with some success.

I think the problem with sports games, however, is that there's SO much continuity expected from year to year, it would be tough to build any momentum. For example, Infinity Engine was just added this year, and presuming people really like it (I'm on the fence), they're going to expect that feature back the following year (and want it even better).

So how does that work in the alternating developer scenario, exactly? Team A creates Infinity, which isn't really "done" until just before August. They share secrets with Team B for next year's game. But Team B is implementing it for the first time. Maybe they get a few months of a head start and improve it, but the new game will also need new features of it's own. And then Team A would have to learn those secondhand for the following year's game.

Bingo. The early days of 360 and PS3 remind me of Sega CD a little bit - developers (particularly EA) were way too drunk on this new "HD" technology. But where some titles upgraded the visuals without compromising the underlying gameplay (Fight Night Round 3), the early Madden games were far inferior in gameplay to the PS2 versions. They were focusing more on strange pre-snap camera angles and things that would show off how the game looked, but nobody really wanted to PLAY.
