Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Gameplay Trailer and Four More War in the Trenches Videos
Cool! I guess there's reason to visit the Madden forum again.
Lots to like. The animations look great.
Vid #1 - the footwork, hand fighting & battling looks very good. Didn't see much to complain about. If true step applies to every player for both user & CPU, good job.
Vid #2 - the edge rush by Spencer, the double on #90 & battle between Hatcher & #79 all looked good. I like that Spencer beat Vick to depth. O-line footwork was nice too.
Vid #3 - same as vid #2. But I wonder what the coding is for doubling. Both vids show doubles on the right DT. Will they double an edge rusher? Will they every target a d-lineman that's been getting pressure? Best pass rusher?
Vid #4 - this vid worries me. Why are Houstan's DTs slanting so far over, and aimlessly. They slanted a full 2 gaps. Makes me wonder if the stunts will every work... for the right reasons.
Vid #5 - same issue as vid #4. The left side of St. Louis' line slants 2 gaps for no apparent reason. The Ram's right DT does appear to attempt to occupy the LG for his blitzing DB. Unfortunately, the DB doesn't take the best path. Lastly, the Ram's right DT ends up fighting the center horizontal to the QB instead of taking a path to the QB. Not good.
A lot of good, but too much bad left over from current gen at this point. I hope those issues got fixed.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

The footwork of, both lines really, looked good in that video, but in the others it looks much more like current gen and you see them sliding sideways instead of taking actual steps. I don't consider it a cause for alarm at this point, as you can disable multiple systems in an application for testing, and it may be that each of those vids shows different systems at work, or not at work.
I was just curious if you noticed the discrepancy though."You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."Comment

I think the sliding can also be caused by the angles the d-line is taking. It's like they have to compensate for the wide angles taken by sliding. They definitely need better animations for the stunts. Everything needs to be tighter. Seems like they're trying to get to spots more so than the qb.
I also hope they make the show blitz option better.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Agree when it comes to the Eagles Vid. Just curious if you compared the footwork of the O-Line in that vid to their footwork in the other vids.

The Chief's guards take some awkward, unrealistic steps. And the Panther's guard might have covered some unrealistic ground. Didn't notice that until I read your post. I guess the defensive issues took my attention. But I'm not seeing any sliding.
As good as it looked in the Philly vid, let's hope the issues are due to what you mentioned.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Hmmm, what am I missing?

I see some suction still as well. Even in the Spencer rush upfield that looks very good, I see some suction.
Not to mention, that even in the Eagles vid where the footwork of the line and the upfield rush looked so good, if you look at the receivers and the secondary, it looks like current gen.
I probably look at things too closely lol. There is still hope though. They are definitely mixing and matching things between builds for showcasing, which is why I'd wager some things look so good and so bad from vid to vid, or even within the same vid. It's just a matter of how much good vs bad we get in the final build..."You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."Comment

They did feature some DB footwork in the 1st vid, so let's hope it's "turned off" in the others, though I saw some funny steps in that 1st one too.
Damn. It's so hard to be optimistic about this game. Hopefully they drop some uninterrupted gameplay vids so we can get a better idea.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment
