Re: Madden 12 sliders that prove the game is solid

First let me say that I have been doing sliders for a long time. And you have to remember that even though the CPU is at 100 , your still at a high level as well. This means , and I mean, absolutely no warping, cheating and super lb's.

I have seen over throws and under throws . I have seen great ( I mean great route running and sideline catches by receivers ). The o line and d line interaction is great. Their is no warping or cheating.

Last but not least.........read the title of my thread people. I'm stating that the game plays solid when certain attributes are adjusted. If the game was truly broken , then no slider set or speed settings could fix the problems that are evident on the default difficulties.
And I have proven this is not the case. This is a good thing for all madden fans.

Re: Madden 12 sliders that prove the game is solid

No disrespect Romo, but your sliders have the same problems as the default. Let me start why your sliders dont or won't work.

      1. Passing is too low to execute proper screen and comeback route passes. Yes I have it @ 63 but I also have CPU coverage @ 100.

      2. Because wr ability is at 63 and CPU coverage is at 100, there is no jumping or unrealistic jumping of the out routes seen. Separation is well done and there is no herky jerky movements. Your sliders have cb's jumping routes before wr even break off thier routes .

      3. With a qb accuracy at 63 and interceptions at 100, you actually don't see super lb's or ridiculous interceptions. I still see those with your slider set.

      4. O line and d line interaction has less pan cakes and more of guys fighting to get into better position to track ball carriers or qb's. This also eliminates super qb's from scrambling all over the place. Your sliders had Aaron Rodgers rushing for 20 yards before contact.

Your sliders are basically a mix of all madden and all pro. Basically your dumbing down the " intelligence " of the human side to make the game play harder. Where in fact we should increase the intelligence for both sides and let the attributes take over.

Re: Madden 12 sliders that prove the game is solid

Could you please post your slider settings? I would like to try this. I have to admit that I have been putting pass reaction and block shedding very low. If you have those cranked up high I dont even see how this game could be playable.

With the block shedding over anywhere around 20 the defensive warp off their blocks and hit you before you can hit any hole. Also, with pass reaction over anywhere near 30 I find it near impossible to pass because safeties can cover the entire field and DB's make incredible unrealistic breaks on the ball and mirror the WR's routes as well....

On that note, let me explain my thoughts on the demo. First , the graphics are well done as expected. Second, the presentation is a nice welcome to a series that has not had an upgrade in many, many years. What was bothering me was the weight and " intelligence" of the players. On all-pro, players missed wide open blocks, receivers ran herky -jerky routes and screens did not flow in a realistic manner. What I did first is set the CPU sliders to 100 and then the human to 100 for " all " sliders. I also set the game to very slow and the speed threshold to 100.

As far as the sliders , having the human at 100 will make the game very easy , but it's what you will see from the players on the field that make the game play very well. As of now I have worked the human side sliders down to 65, and I have kept the CPU sliders at 100. I'm trying to find that happy medium from reality to a competitive game.

Keeping the threshold at 100 helps with the Qb's running wild and keeps the separation of players to a minimal.

Like in Madden of past years, the slower speed generated better branching animations and this year seems to be no different. The slower speed is the way to go.

I' m hoping that the retail version of Madden plays like my sliders dictate ,but on the default All-pro and all-madden level without any slider intervention.

If this holds true, then this years madden might be quite the treat that us die hard Madden freaks have been waiting for.
This is completely false. The exact opposite. . .

Well if someone's gonna post their sliders in the wrongfully (not in the sub-forum) then why not pimp mine out here? Plus some of these numbers are out there with compared to what I've tested. . . why mislead people?

I have seen over throws and under throws . I have seen great ( I mean great route running and sideline catches by receivers ). The o line and d line interaction is great. Their is no warping or cheating.

Last but not least.........read the title of my thread people. I'm stating that the game plays solid when certain attributes are adjusted. If the game was truly broken , then no slider set or speed settings could fix the problems that are evident on the default difficulties.
And I have proven this is not the case. This is a good thing for all madden fans.

It's not misleading.......it's been tested.... And the op is right , it's kind of douche like to ride someone else's coat tails to boost your self up.

Put the CPU at 100 for everything and the human side to 63. Put the speed threshold at 100 and the game speed on very slow. If it's too easy move the game speed to slow or normal.

                    Celg,

I am very interested in trying out your sliders. Two quick questions for you:

                    1. A huge problem with M12 is defensive players shedding their blocks almost immediately as you hit the hole making the running game VERY frustrating and unrealistic. By putting the the CPU shed block to 100 wont this make the issue 10X worse?

                    2. Another huge problem with M12 is in the passing game DB's mirror the WR routes and react WAY to quickly to passes in the air. On default all-pro it seems the safeties can literally cover the entire field AFTER a pass is thrown. By putting CPU pass reaction to 100 wont that just make this problem much worse?

EDIT: Another thing that really frustrates me about the passing game is that when a DB is covering a WR in man to man they will break off their man to try and make a play on a ball thrown to ANOTHER reciever. I am sure this is something sliders cant fix but it makes the passing game very frustrating for me...

First, even though the CPU is at 100 , you are still at 63 for blocking. What I have noticed is a very realistic momentum based blocking system. One thing I have noticed on both sides of the ball is that defenders will turn and try to spin out of blocks toward the side the running backs is on. The animation is very real and not cheated at all. Especially when the defender spins and dives to try and make a shoe string tackle.

Second, passing is fun. Having cb's reaction time at 100 and a speed threshold at 100 puts cb's in the right area to make a play , but they will not jump a route with a wr ability at 63. Foot planting on routes seem to be more effective and I can actually perform "all " of the receiver routes without worrying that db's will jump the route before the wr even makes move to the outside. Cornerbacks won't jump the route, but they will react in a very effective manner that may be closing the gap or diving to swat the pass.

On a final note high numbers doesn't make it less of a game, it makes the game feel natural. If you find it too easy. Tune down the human sliders , but leave the CPU alone. I also would not recommend going any lower than 55 for all human sliders.

The key to these is very slow speed and 100 threshold speed.

So I guess the answer to your question is no, they won't act the way you would expect. I have done this before with madden 11 sliders and I loved the way the game played.

With the CPU sliders at 100 are you getting Physic DB's and LB's?

No, not at all. It has to do with your sliders being raised to 62. The higher number makes the wr's make better cuts and route running and the qb's accuracy as far as trajectory and accuracy. You will still not complete all your passes, but you won't see psychic lb's and cb's making unrealistic interceptions .

@celg35 Thanks for the reply. Just to make sure I'm up to date, Human is at 63 and CPU is at 100. That doesn't include kicking stuff right? Also, how does it affect the game if I played on Fast? I like to mimic the speed of the NFL the best I can.

Well u can move the speed from very slow to normal. This might make the game more competitive if it's too easy as well. I like the very slow speed because I feel the branching animations are not herky jerky. I still think the game moves at a good speed, but thus might be preference thing.

                                Good luck

                                P. s. yes, human @ 63 and CPU at 100
