Nobody gonna fill the store lines just to play
    NFL Blitz,street, battleground,.
So you mean to tell me they are willing to make those types of games just to stay in NFL good graces when they could've made a customizable football game and what if the simulation license gets lock up again for another 5 years then what?

Questions I have after the EA/NCAA announcement.

Are we getting 2k news soon? Did EA time this to kill some of the hype around 2ks new game? If they did, does this mean they are genuinely worried about what 2k is working on?

Does this increase your interest in this project if EA is already trying to steal its momentum?

EA insisted on an exclusive license I'm sure. I wonder how much they'll allow players to customize teams and players though? Change looks and names? Stats? Can you share edited rosters?

I bring that up since 2K can watch what EA does and follow suit, especially if they try another All Pro Football game down the road.

In the meantime, I really need to see what 2K has planed for their NFL licensed game. A simple arcade, seven-on-seven game means I won't be buying it. If simulation only means not having the NFL schedule and playoffs ending in the Super Bowl? I can live with that if the gameplay is good.

Maybe I mean the Superbowl is on Sunday maybe they know that 2k has something planned. Doubt since it probably would have leaked by now but you never know.

EA probably is bringing back NCAA to take away sales from 2K's football title but that is if they can clear all the issues with the NIL stuff and NCAA licensing. EA said it's coming back but they didn't say when.

I just hope this opens the door for 2k to bring back College hoops.

Perhaps.... I mean we learned about the new partnership between 2K & NFL just before EA announced they extended the exclusive license. So EA is doing what 2K did, getting ahead before their announcement.

They are beginning to openly and actively develop an additional franchise they are probably hiring for, trademarking, etc. Many more meaningful reasons to make this official, including the release of earnings the next day.

Yes, but knowing EA & their marketing strategies attempting to pull the rug from under Take -Two is also a solid opinion.

Especially when they are announcing a title that might not release for another 2 years & full development has yet to begin. Building up excitement and/or anticipation two years in advance of release is an unusual decision for a sports title.

I'm hoping 2KSports gives us something concrete about their NFL title by Friday or Monday after their own earnings call.

Exactly! I would expect that from an indie developer trying to crowdfund a project but not EA. If EA's announcement was indeed a posturing and gamesmanship move, then it would signal 2k/T2 might be cooking up something bigger than some of us are expecting. We shall see.

I tend to agree. Unless it was a situation where EA had just agreed to the CLC deal and wanted to announce it before it leaked, you I usually don't see sports games announce a title 2-3 years before release. Like how 2k got out in front of the EA NFL extension. We didn't hear anything about whatever 2k is doing in the past year besides the NFLPA license. We aren't likely going to hear anything about the EA College game until the year of release outside of the NIL stuff.. That's how sports games are. They don't really go into detail about a new sports game until months before release.

Yea....but most sports releases aren't former beloved franchises with a big loyal fanbase that has been dying to have it come back for the past 5+ years. I would think in this case it would make a lot of sense to announce it as soon as the decision to come back was made.

I truly hope you guys are right and the 2k project is something to get excited about! I just don't see it

I don't have any expectations for it lol. It's just the feeling of whether EA's announcement was coincidence or not. It would make sense for 2k for it being Superbowl. I always said between Superbowl and early April. I don't see it waiting until E3 since it's a brand new series and likely to come out in August. 2k revealed Battlegrounds info a few months before release, so I could see 3-5 months before release

Right, I'm prepared for the worst (NFL version of Playgrounds) but hoping for the best (an All - Pro spiritual successor). I've been saying to wait and see, while also speculating the nature of the title because a truly arcade title has little reach.

It also is interesting that EA countered their announcement last year (clarifying that they still hold the sole rights to "simulation" pro football) and now have made another (huge) announcement before Take - Two/2K officially unveils their game(s).

If not during the Superbowl then probably during the draft.

I was thinking the Draft. But, Madden usually always releases something during the draft. It just depends whether they reveal everything within 1-2 months before release like NBA 2k or 3-5 months like Battlegrounds. They have key moments like Superbowl, combine, and Draft where there are a lot of attention on football

I think ea’s announcement of NCAA returning has DIRECT influence on what 2k is cooking up.
