I've searched the whole roster file and there are no hidden legends in the game. There are players that for some odd reason have no ratings and no names. They sit at the bottom of the area where all the players are located. My guess is that they are just unused generics.

I think I found the default team logos and team accessory area of the file. I am not totally sure but if it is it, we could replace the default teams with teams of our own uniforms and logos. In fact I am gonna create the 1990 Eagles and replace the default Philadelphia Americans with them and see what happens.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
I've been doing some testing tonight with the tier systems. Here is what I found out:
1. The 11 star players format is pretty much the limit. I couldn't find a way to get 12 star players on a team without it freezing.
2. The 11 star player format is extremely flexible, meaning that it is perfectly fine to have more than any 6 of one tier on a team. I thought since the game didn't have any premade team with more than 6 at any one tier that it wasn't going to be possible to have, let's say, 11 golds on a team. Come to find out, it doesn't really matter as long as you stay with 11 players. For example, an additional bronze player will not show up on the list of bronze players that rotate when selecting a team to play a quick game, but he will definitely be on the depth chart and in the game.
I wish I didn't have a huge paper to write this weekend so I could continue to test it more. It sure is exciting though!!Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
Well I moved and replaced the legends with my 1990 philadelphia eagles. Some issues popped up.
1. It seems you can't have duplicates on all the default teams. Meaning if you have one Reggie White on 1 team you can't have him on another team. I was able to practice against the Americans with the eagle players on there but they had no names on the back of their jerseys. The game does not like duplicates so if you place any player on a default team, the other guy needs to be removed. Also there seems to be a team code branded on certain players so I have to check that as well. Still a lot of work to be done.
2. It seems to be a logo team settings for each team, 24 default and 8 created. I tried copying one to the other and it froze so that won't work unfortunately. The team basics need more research before editing through the hex editor. I tired to take the easy way out but I will need some time to completely get this area totally right.Comment

I know what you mean. I have a test tomorrow and a test on Thursday, then it's finals week. So I can't help out as much as I like right now.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
I was able to make earl campbell, John jefferson AND 5 generics created players in the game by changing him to the blue 05 and 06 like in the picture catch 22 posted. I changed 3 generics to gold and silvers. I now have a total of 27 created players. You can edit there names too. The 3 tiered generics are available in the player select screen.
Edit: when i tried to practice against the teams with the generics converted to golds, it froze. Maybe there is a code written to each team for the amount of tired players they can have, I wonder if it can be changed.Last edited by AVONFTW; 12-03-2010, 09:05 AM.Comment

My guess is you guys have a new found appreciation for how much time it actually takes to decipher these save formats... and No, I am not currently working on a APF editor.Last edited by FlyingFinn; 12-03-2010, 07:52 AM.Comment

Would you consider it? Especially with all of the people here willing to donate to your cause?Comment

I think the easiest test would be to give one Speed Burner and test it out. That seems to me to be the easiest ability to see in the game.Comment
