Repost - Reward
I will send you $40 via your PalPal account if you are the first person to post/share a
working team file with 11 players that have 5 abilities (even you FootballSchemer/Super Shotgun).
Trying to get this ASAP. We want to check it out for league play. Must post the link in this thread.
I will download, transfer, verify, play 1 game online and then transfer the funds.

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
As far as checking it out for league play, I maxed out all my coverage and speed abilities on bronze and silvers on defense and the difference is NIGHT and DAY!!
They intercept 90% of balls that touch there hands, closing speed is way more realistic.
Basically if you throw a bone headed ball its going to get picked which simulates more NFL type play then regular APF does.
Against lobby scrubs I average 7 INTs a game with the build which it should be that way. If you dont know what you are doing. NFL players dont drop balls just because they play defense.Comment

Re: Repost - Reward
I believe we just need the 11 w/ 5 abilities for the league. If that is correct, don't worry about the other details.Comment

Re: Repost - Reward
Also when you edit them it messes up there attributes.Comment

Re: Repost - Reward
Thanks for PM Shotgun. I'll try it, but you are telling me we can't edit it, which will not work for the league.
We may have to wait for a basic editor. We will extend the $40 offer to the 1st person to post a workable basic editor (just CAPs, 11 players, 5 abilities, name, ht. wt, skin color, build)Last edited by tjspeaks; 12-25-2010, 09:42 PM.Comment

Re: Repost - Reward
Hmm, so it couldn't be used for a league then? We thought once each slot had 5 abilities, they could be edited.

Also, due to the fact that created players appear at different locations on every roster file, I think a basic APF 2k8 editor might not be possible. Hopefully, someone can figure out something, but it would be really difficult.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
See the thing is there isn't an option to turn on 5 abilities for silver, bronze and gold. You have to give them extra abilities through the hex editor.
Once you get the player in game and you try to give them other abilities you lose the ability and it reverts to 1 for bronze and 2 for silver.
You could then make all 11 players gold players but once again if you don't have all the achievements, when you tried to make a change the game would then revert your player to 3 abilities for a gold. To give the players the abilities you want you have to do it through the editor and not the game.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
If you are trying to edit CAPs along with generics and legends, it could take a whole lot longer depending upon how specific you want to get.
I highly suggest messing with it. It is a whole lot of fun making teams like you want them.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
On the file I received from Super Shotgun, having one team file will not work for leagues mainly because the positions are locked. I could edit team name, colors, player's name, number, etc. I could take away abilities, but not add abilities. This could work in our 3 ability league. You would give each position the 5 most commonly used abilities and have each owner delete several. You can have a bronze TE Todd Heap with 3 abilities.
I could edit 10 of the 11 players, 1 froze the game every time I tried, so he would have to be remade I imagine.
I would imagine the above gives hope that a basic editor would work.
If someone was fast and would build perhaps 7 type teams (e.g. an offense team, running team, pass defense team, etc.)... league members could select the type team they wanted and then edit accordingly (positions would be set).
e.g. Run defense team =
G OLB
G SS
S QB
S OLB
S HB
B CB
B TE
B FS
B WR
B DT
B WRComment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
Yeah I don't plan on messing with generics.
I'm just looking to build a 11 CAP team using the classic GGSSSBBBBBB format with abilities at:
Gold - 5 abilities
Silver - 4 abilities
Bronze - 3 abilities
You hex guys think I could do it in about an hour?Last edited by jyoung; 12-25-2010, 11:38 PM.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
We are putting this up for league vote. If league approves, Super Shotgun will build us 10 team types (that should cover almost everyone's team preferences).
We will select a team type with 11 players that have 5 of the most commonly used abilities. We will then edit team and players and deselect the abilities we do not desire based on the league team build guidelines.
The one player that was freezing was a QB with an unused ability (tough as nails).
We'll see how the league vote goes with our 20 owners. Thanks everyone for the assistance.
