Read through the thread and decided to play the demo of this game. Absolutely love it, great football game.

Went right to Amazon and purchased it. Had some credit left on a gift card so I got it basically for free!

Have fun my man, I envy you. This game had by far the longest honeymoon period of any video game I ever played. I seriously played every night for like 4 months. There is so much greatness to this game, it still puts Madden to shame. A couple pro-tips:

1. Use Marino. Early and often.

2. Mess around with all the different styles of play. So much fun trying to beat one style with another.

Didn't see your post in time and ended up taking Steve Young at QB, haha. Not used to playing with a lefty QB but I'm getting used to it.

Loving this game so far, can't wait to create some different team combos and seeing how it changes the gameplay.

It's still miles and miles ahead of madden and goes to show you that with some effort, passion and real talent, you can emulate the sport we love to great detail.

Man, I played a game of APF last night. What an amazing game. I really wish 2k would just make a game with generic players and a deep, deep franchise mode that worked both online and offline.

I've been thinking about setting up a community type project here in creating a 2012 updated roster game as I think we have found most of the discoveries on this site. I just don't think there is enough interest here now though.

Definitely get the 360 version if you're just picking it up now.

Better framerate + title update + more players online + ability to hex edit.

Even how when you run out or get shoved out of bounds players grab an catch you. Or heck even you are getting blocked on the play the game allows you to reach a arm out to try and slow down the runner a little..

Unlike EA where you run through your teammates ghost bodies on the sidelines.

I've been thinking about setting up a community type project here in creating a 2012 updated roster game as I think we have found most of the discoveries on this site. I just don't think there is enough interest here now though.

I kept running into so many roadblocks just trying to make just an 8-team NFL file with full rosters that I ended up having to just shelve the project.

I will be interested to see what becomes of this 32-team file from ratesports.

The quality of their previous APF 2K8 releases has been pretty poor.

At the least, maybe we can use their upcoming file as a base to edit from and make changes.

I would be down with that. I have a file I'm currently working on and would love to get some thoughts/help but I want to wait to see how accurate the file is from ratesports before I go all in.

Man just found one of the GS near me had this for $2 and I had to (re)buy it. This time for PS3 though. I was never any good, but I loved making my own teams and doing the 2 controller thing to play my other CAT's.

Now all I need is some good sliders if anyone knows of any let me know.

I really want to make my Warren Moon led RnS/Spread Killer Bees team that I actually played online with back in the day despite getting my *** handed to me.

The beauty of this game...and 2k5 as well... lies simply in the player interactions and "suddeness" of the animations. 2k/VC managed to re-create "explosiveness"....a vital component of football. Earl Campbell's runs are a thing of beauty...and they exemplify what I'm talking about.

I finally got this game today after searching for it . What a difference it plays like real football. Making teams is pretty cool also . And the price $3 included a 1 yr coverage fee is just unreal. I been just messing with it played a few games 13min qtrs trying to get sim type stats and total plays have ranged from 114-118. On Allpro. I will try a season once i get used to the game.

I played A game 13 min qtrs all pro total plays 116. 3 penalties. I lost 31-17 using the americans . I saw a crazy fumbled snap punt that was picked up by the punter and taken in for a td . Unfortunately it was against me haha. ME Americans Aikman 21-31-181-2td-0int, Rushing Payton 22-96-0td, Receiving Payton 6-30, Maynard 3-26-1td, Clark 6-105,Defense for me had 2 sacks . CPU Cyclones Cunningham 11-20-127-1td, Rushing Simpson 35-194-2td he killed me . Receiving Inkrott1-48-1td Harper 4-54 Defense 2 sacks Im having fun with this game .
