Sorry Kanobi if this question has been asked before its been awhile since I've delt with 2k8 rosters and editing and have busy creating/editing 2k5 rosters so my question is are these season or head to head rosters?

I've been checking out the vids and am some what confuse wanting to play head to head games before stepping into a franchise which I intend to do at some point but enjoy those head to head games personaly being a avid fan of 2k sports in general.

I'm a little rusty with using the Modio but am somewhat familiar having used it for BackBreaker and Madden 12/13 mod rosters.

Thank you and RateSports for doing these I've enjoyed you guys work for years and have a true admiration for your other works and contributions here at OS and the RateSports site.

No I haven't. Wanted to wait for ratesports to release version 4 which, I safely assume, would have the freeze fixed and obviously updated rosters and depth charts.



Unlike the other team files, the Vikes doesn't have the latest edits to the run and passing game.

Can post some game stats?...which teams are you playing against? Have you tried taking on the Packers or Dallas? which players on opponents teams are standing out? Any surprise playmakers for your team or the opponent?

Kanobi, any chance you can put a patriots file up updated? id thanksaprieciate it...

I would LOVE to see a Redskins one.

I made one myself where I changed Helu to the starter with bumped attributes and swapped around the stars and abilties and some ratings, but I'd like to see one with Alfred Morris/Helu/Royster as RB and Brandon Banks/Aldrick Robinson/Hankerson/Moss/Garcon as WR.

Missing Perry Riley as an ILB off the top of my head, also Richard Crawford as CB. Cedric Griffin moved over to CB as well.

DeAngelo Hall needs to be rated much lower, he is not a gold star, not even a bronze star. Josh Wilson is a silver star IMO however.

I am wanting to make some files for people base on Rate Sports head-to-head or individual team season rosters, cause it seems that Kanobi does not have time. If anyone wants to see a particular team, please tell me and what edits should be done. I am going to use the ratings from http://www.fbgratings.com cause they are very close to apf 2k8's rating template. I will be applying these ratings to all Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiered players. All the generics will be globally edited, and very similar, expect for the few players that have exceptional speed or strength, for example. Thanks fellas

Glad to see you are back, Kanobi!! The charging port on my computer recently broke and I have to buy a new computer!! However, when I plug the battery and cable into my computer, I do not lose charge; and I am presently at 21% battery charge, so I am able to do the editing. I am writing down all the Gold, Silver, and Bronze players by position and writing down the important ratings for each specific player in a notebook, using fbgratings.com as my guide to the ratings I will give. Then, I will globally edit the generic players close to what jyoung gave us for the apf 2k8 ratings template, and edit a few players who have exceptional ratings, like speed or strength. I am also going to edit the kickers and punters, so that side of the game is more realistic. I am moving, and I work and go to school full-time, but the ratings edits to the first file will be base on Rate Sports Head-to-Head file titled: Top 8 NFL Teams. That way, you can play with 8 teams vs the rest of the league; with every player edited. I am willing to share the ratings with you, Kanobi, so you can input them. Once I have all the ratings compiled, if there is a way for us to each edit the ratings and send the file back and forth to each other, we could get many files done before May 2013, when hopefully Rate Sports or someone is able to edit the names of the new players that are entering the NFL.

And Kanobi, what team files are you going to release next? Thanks and Have Fun

Is this still XBOX only? Saw a copy for PS3 for like $2.50 at GS last week and I almost bought it because of these updates...but then I remembered it was tough to find for PS3.

Only for X-BOX 360. If you like realistic football gaming, not arcade trash, then it is worth getting a 360 for just this game. A 4-GB console is plenty good.

I just sold my Madden 13..Do you have or could you make a Colts roster? I downloaded the one from ratesports 2k13 v3, but my team was all wrong. I would appreciate it. If not, thanks anyway

wha's up 2K Heads!! so i love me some APF2K8...love it. I recently stumbled across all of the info regarding the 2k13 roster project etc and i was blown away! very very excited about transferring the roster files from RateSports.com and will definitely be making a donation, no doubt. i do have a couple questions though.

so all 32 NFL teams are represented....which is insanely amazing. my question though is this: when starting a season, will all teams be available in the season mode? is there anything i need to know about how to make that happen? or can i only have a certain number of teams? One more question: i have seen a couple posts about the player ratings. do they need to be tweaked once i get the roster files?

my apologies for the noobish nature of my questions. i am stoked to get these rosters uploaded to to my xbox over Thanksgiving break!

I suggest you do NOT play the Season mode, because it will likely freeze in Week 11 and the Simulation stats are HORRRIBLE!! The Titans go 14-2 or better every season; sim a few seasons and see for yourself.

You can only control one team in season mode. Rate Sports has head-to-head files where you can play as 8 different teams. His season files, you can only play as one team.

You need to edit the player ratings if you want the game to play like the real NFL. Thank God that Rate Sports did the majority of the work of changing names and getting the NFL set up for us on APF. However, the ratings are generic and not at all reflective of how the real NFL players play. After all the work he put in, it should be up to use to enter the player ratings because Rate Sports has already done soooo much by himself.

I have 15 of the NFL teams player ratings written down in my Notebook. I have completely edited 8 user teams in rate sports NFC Alt.(MIN) file and it plays EXCELLENT.

I REALLY wish we could get three or four people together and edit rate sports files together, as a small, elect group of people so many of these files can get finished.

I am willing to write down the ratings of five more teams, so that would be 20 NFL teams ratings written down. And if a few people could do a few teams each, we could exchange the ratings between us and get a bunch of file done before we reach Christmas time.

If anyone is willing to do this and stick with it, instead of quitting half-way through, please send me a PM(Private Message). Thanks Guys for contributing to these forums!!

And one more thing, in APF, each team has 42 players on the roster, which includes a Kicker and Punter.

I have the Steelers ratings written in my Notebook. I just finished the Texans in my Notebook. Remember, to change names, this can ONLY be done in the Hex Editor. I only edit the players as they appear in Rate Sports file within the PC Editor. Therefore, the rosters are not exact. For example, there is no Leftwich in the file and no Mendenhall.

For Rainey, you can give him Mendenhall's ratings and attributes, but his name will still be Rainey unless you change names in the Hex Editor. I PRAY that Rate Sports gives us another update in June 2013 or in early-September 2013 to keep this game moving forward.
