I remember releasing and assigning every player in 2K3 and never had this problem whatsoever which makes me believe that its because of the crappy depth chart.

Not sure how it was in previous versions but the depth chart is weird in 2k5. It is stored in the player data rather then the team data which I found odd and is why I struggled finding it at first.

When I think about this stuff, I always picture something like looking at the "Matrix" code. I see nothing but symbols scrolling down a screen and you guys see team data, player data, etc.

When I was in 7th grade, I wrote a program that made a pair of dice roll and create random numbers on an Apple II. That is the extent of my experience. I would have just as much luck performing invasive surgury.

Hey Finn, i cant quite get the 08-09 schedule to be 100% correct. The Baltimore @ Houston game in week 2 in your 08/09 schedule should be in week 10 and teh Cincinnati @ Houston game in week 10 should be in week 8. However when i try and fix this the Indianapolis @ Tennesse match is removed from the schedule.

My guess is you already know this but i thought id just check if you did or not?

DW: not sure how much schedule making you've done in the past so this may be old news to you, but there are certain limitations in the game's schedule involving when bye weeks can & cannot be scheduled.

could this be your problem?

yeah, i assumed that there were limitations with it. that's why i said that this is probably known already, but i stumbled accross it so i thought id ask. to be honest it doesnt bother me that much at all, it was just something i noticed and couldnt see anything about it in the faqs in the editor

also, Finn, do you reckon you would be able to make your editor compatible with PAL .max ps2 saves? At the moment i have to convert back and forth, but how easy would it be for you to make your editor able to read and edit these files?

I am pretty sure those excel files are meant to read only. You can't import them back into the editor.

OK guys I know this si not new but I have been having the Franchise freezing problems too. I went through my first season with the Cardinals 3-13 got the second pick in the draft drafted a QB and I was 3-0 in my second season when it started to freeze, It also froze on me one in the draft. I love the game and was really excited about my 3-0 start on it but its hard to keep liking the game when it keeps on freezing. Anyone know what I can do to solve this problem?

I don' know what roster you use, but very few of them are designed to go beyond one season. Puja's will and maybe one other, but that is about it.

Question - I have tried to research this specifically, but no such luck.

I'm trying to import my entire draft class from Madden 09 (from Ncaa 09) into my NFL2k5 franchise. This means I'm manually editing 'generated' rookies in the draft class.

Now, after I experienced the "name edit limit", I went and edited the franchise in the Editor.

My problem, since names were greyed out - I did whatever I could so the gray went away. So editing a player, "SELECT EXISTING NAME"...selected one - then backspace - replaced name with whoever.

Now, I save - load up the franchise file again - it says "Name corruption" or something, I say no (just to see) and I go to the Jaguars, PUnter Adam Podlesh now says Chris Podlesh. OKay, fine, I think I knew that would happen - after all each is an existing name, I'm sure there is a limit.

So next time I load up the franchise again - I click "yes" and voila, it's fixed.

Now...after editing about all the positions except for CBs and S -- I come to find that after loading the franchise again...there is no "corruption" prompt, therefore the names are not being corrected.

Why is this? Is there a fix?

Am I basically overdoing something? Is there a completely different way to do this? I'm not exactly at wits end, as long as the last names stay in-tact, I'll sacrifice getting the first names wrong for the sake of having all my rooks.
