Ok, I don't get all the problems going on here. I have 360/20gHD from 11/2007 WinXP/xplorer360. All I did was hook everything up and follow the exact instructions in post #1 of this thread, and everything worked fine. No problems whatsoever. I even got Finn's fix for custom soudtracks going on.

I guess it's easy for you since you have game saves in Partition 3. I don't see anything there which is where my problem is.

try xport 1.07 instead of xplorer

So what's going on here why can't I see my game saves in partition 3 and what is all that crap in partition 2?
          1. Ok, so I see that you're using an XPort cable, but the Xplorer360 software, correct?? Maybe use the XPort 1.07 software instead. Maybe it makes a diffrence with their cable.

          2. Are you using WindowsXP or Vista?? If it's Vista, well you've read the thread, I'm sure you've seen all those explanations and suggestions.

          3. This is the big one. Did you fire up the game on your 360 and save the default roster first?? Before going into your HD through XPlorer360?? If not then you won't have the correct file structure to get to on "Partition 3". I'm not a computer genius or anything, but hopefully something I've said here will help you out.

well i got a question what if i dont have another hard drive is it still possible for me to still get the rosters with the cables that run from the pc to the 360... basically doing it all minus the transfer from hard drives or do i really need the 120 gb?

the reason i ask is because am one of those ppl that still say that 2k5 was the best football game and that am forced to buy madden is because its the only one with the license, and playing madden 09 made me realise that they upgrade madden to end up pissing me off the same... and apf was good but had its great flaws...

            so i need help

The cable dosen't go from the computer to the 360 itself. It goes from the computer's usb port to the 360's Hard Drive. You have to unclip the HD only from the top of the 360......

No, you don't NEED a 120gb HD. I have the 20GB. I use the Xplorer360 program, and Microsoft's 'Transfer Kit' cable. It works fine. To me, you sound a little confused about how the process works. Go back and read post #1 of this thread a few times over and then come back if you still don't get it.

Microsoft will not send me the cable without a serial number from an elite system! I tried calling and talked to 3 different people and they all said the same thing. How else can i get this cable? Any help please? thanks

Re: STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO GET LATEST ROSTERS ON 360

                    Hi,
hoping this won't be too redundant but I did some searching around, and found some related problems but not a solution.

I have a 20GB Xbox 360 HD, connected to my PC using a Microsoft data transfer cable. The cable was used once for my bud's 20GB HD to a 120GB HD, if that means anything. Have tried using Xplorer and Xport. The hard drive doesn't show up there, or on My Computer. I get a "Could not find a FATX drive to open!" error.

In the Control Panel->Device Manager, I see the HD listed as a USB Mass Storage Device. I've tried to update the drivers, and it appears to install, but then it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". Rebooting doesn't help, and seemed to prevent my computer from booting while the HD was plugged in. Running a boring Windows XP machine.

Thinking something might be wrong with my data transfer cable, but I know it worked fine for transferring my friend's hard drive.

                    Thanks

and yes def make sure you download the xport360 version 1.07

(found it in the link provided by maynard ^^ thanks)
This is the video I used and you can get a transfer cable for free you just need a serial number for a regular 360 and one for an Elite 360 (when you fill out the form) and they'll send it to you for free.

OK I need some help. I have everything I need to transfer rosters (game saves on my HD, the cable, xport 360 AND xplorer360, etc etc), but I can't.

My issue is the drag and drop. I am using Vista and don't know how to get around the drag and drop issue. Everything is fine up until then on xport. When I try xplorer, nothing shows in partition 3. I checked the FAQ and don't really understand the solutions/they don't help. Anyone got ideas/answers?

Does anyone know if the xport360 or other transfer files have been updated to be compatible with the 120Gb hdd? I have read posts by people who claim to have had their HDD messed up by this. I have about 60 gigs of stuff which I would rather not lose. Any suggestions?

just google either, theyre both free. codejunkies.com has xport

i finally got xport to work!! (on vista)

i had to download xport 1.11 to get it and it worked perfectly when i had the files in explorer (i just created new folders in partition 3) and dragged the files over one by one
