Get em daflyboys!, lol. After spending a ton of time with Madden last night, I realize that the passing game is flawed, at least throwing to WR's. The throwing to the TE is very good as well as the backs but it seems impossible to get down the field with a throw, and I'm not talking about long bombs. The one thing that I always hated about Madden was how the players never felt fluid like in 2k. In 2k you could creep up slowly in madden it seems as tough your player can stop, cut or stop moving when you want. That alone drives me nuts and makes it a task to play as a db (fs, ss) which i always play as. If Maddens player movement was as good as 2k or even close along with fixing the passing game it would truly make it a solid game, oh yeah the collision thing as well, it actually makes me laugh.

it took me about 1 game to realize wr's are almost useless. Having moss/owens/etc is a waste. TE's and rbs are all that matters in madden 2010 passing!

I think I am going with Madden 10. The graphics are much better than 2k5. I still say that 2K5 has better animation on a whole. Gameplay seem like a push to me.

2K5's presentation is superior!!! The gameplay still holds more than its own as well!!!

I think I am to the point to trying using large att's in the catching area. I used it for route running and others but if this helps I will use it.

Just a little background. I loved 2k5. I bought Madden 07, but ended up going back to 2k5. I bought Madden 08, but ended up going back to 2k5. I refused to let Madden disappoint me last year so I went with the updated rosters on the 360 and loved playing 2k5 for the full season (and then laughed when Madden 09's terrible reviews came out).

This year I decided to give Madden another chance (I'm also a Cubs fan, go figure). The reason I always went back to 2k5 is that it simply was FUN whereas Madden was bland and boring. This year is different. I've only had the game about a week, so the jury is still out, but I'm having a lot more fun with Madden this year already than I had in the past.

Trust me, there's plenty wrong with both games. Madden helps point out the faults in 2k5 (like the graphics, dropped passes, interceptions). On the other hand, I still think the players in Madden look like monsters and run like robots, but they've made a lot of strides in making this game fun.

I would definitely say Madden is worth a try this year. I may end up going back to 2k5 again this year a few months from now, but like I said I'm already seeing a huge difference in the fun factor of the Madden series already.

Madden has great graphics. Duh.

The presentation has improved, but still has a long way to go. Every presentation aspect seems rushed. The cutscenes are nice, but too short and sometimes have the wrong players shown. The commentary is horrible an robotic. The crowd is a bit better. I expected better stat overlays. The halftime show and week recap shows are not fluid at all, and have no highlights from other games.

The gameplay has improved greatly. Although it is entirely too easy to throw to the flats, broken even. It's is still to difficult to sack the QB. Defenders take wrong pursuit angles. There is always something wrong with blocking such as FB running in the wrong direction or just standing there. Pro Tak a lot of times takes precedence over your tackle. Meaning if my players is about to make contact with a ball carrier and Pro Tak is triggered by another player then your guy will just miss his tackle completely even though he had the better angle.

Madden got way better, but it has a bunch of bugs and other minor things that need tweaking. There are a couple of patches that should fix hopefully most of those issues.
