    Re: CPU LOSES CHALLENGE

Oh, I see. I guess I misinterpreted what it was allowing me to do last night, since it was inside 2:00. I figured it would allow me to do the same thing for a normal challenge. That's too bad. So I guess you just have to hope you saw something funny during the play and were right about it, huh?

    Apologies for raising false hope.

That's what I was trying to say. No, you can't. You watch it, then challenge, it says "You can't after watching a replay".

Inside of 2:00 you could do whatever you want, because you don't have control over whether you want to challenge or not.

A weird little thing I've noticed, is that sometimes the ESPN replay will show immediately after some plays that are questionable, and I've been able to throw a flag on those. Clinton Portis had scampered down the sidelines for a 73 yard romp into the end zone - and during the play, I swore I saw him step out of bounds on a juke.

After he scored the touchdown, the automated ESPN replay had ran, and before they kicked the extra point, I had challenged the call and got it overturned. It was rather strange, really - I haven't run into anything else since that, but thought I'd make it known.

      ADDENDUM:

BTW - I didn't get the call overturned.

well in my mission of taking espn football to all my friends who are die hard madden fans (they are all impressed by the way) my tight end caugt an out route broke two tackles and gets the first. Then my wise guy roomate is like he stepped out, he stepped out, needless to see he challenged it and it was correct. Revenge came in the form of the infamous tuck rule on what he thought was a fumble recovery though. Ha ha

You can still challenge after an "automatic" replay, but if you pause the game and view a "manual" replay, you are no longer permitted to challenge that play.

I love the new challenge system. I've already seen 3 or 4 calls overturned.

One of them was with 1:00 left in the game. I had the ball inside the Eagles 20 yard line on first down and they had no timeouts left. I got greedy and instead of taking a knee I ran Alstott on a dive play and fumbled the ball. The booth reviewed the play and determined that the knee was down before the fumble and overturned the call.

I've also had several spot plays overturned that have either taken away a first down or given a 4th down instead of a first down. It's amazing how you can actually tell when its a wrong spot.
