    Re: DB AI issues

I would like to know this as well. Does the developers at VC have any direct contact with you, so you can pass on information to them. Right now is the time to pass all these bugs and such on to them. In a few months it will be too late for a patch to be worked on, and a few months later it will be too late for it to get into 2K6, which I am positive they have already started to work on.

I've started to notice this too and it's my only legit complaint.

I'm not into sliders. The game has to be tuned the right way. I don't have time for sliders. I see having to use sliders an excuse for something that they should have already addressed before they shipped.

I can understand wanting the game to ship perfectly... but if a certain slider set works why not use them?

The DBs annoy me when they do that but as far as bullcrap in football games go this game is pretty devoid of big problems.

If you like your football games playable straight from the box, you must not buy any football games.

Okay guys, yall are not playing the ball right. The only thing you have to do is press the Y-button the computer controlled db will either try to pick-off the pass or knock it down. This way the computer decide which one to do. But if you press the black(intercept) or white(Knockdown) button you control what to do. Also you can take control of the db and do these things. If a bullet pass is thrown you might not have time to switch to the db, so use the computer controlled db way. If deep pass or midrange pass is thrown you will have time to switch to the db, but you have time and be in the right position to make a play. Sometimes when switch to the db, I would not accidently take the db off is wr or get a couple steps behind. So make sure you have enough time to manually make a play on the ball. Also with computer controlled dbs, you can move the L-stick towards the ball but don't switch players(b-button) and make a play. It might be me but they seem to move to the ball.

Come on now, of course there are going to be some flaws in any game...but THIS. I'm sorry thereis no excuse for it. How many years have they developed this game. You cannot tell me this is acceptible to you. That is highly annoying. I expect flaws with new implementations but this is not one of them.

                                Re: DB AI issues

This has been an issue for 5 straight years now. I expected incoming Madden guys to see this as a huge issue, but the vets? Yeah it sucks, but as long as its less and less each year, Its OK IMO.

This issue killed 2K3 for me and drove me back to Madden. Th DB's in 2K3 did the wrong animation about 40% of the time. In 2K4 it was drastically reduced...maybe around 20-25%, and this year its down again to perhaps 15%.

The MAIN problem is that this game looks so damned good, we're all re-playing every other play from 100 different angles.

In normal gamespeed a DB may appear to just miss the tip away, the WR makes the play and it looks like normal NFL business as usual...but after we super slo-mo the replay for ten minutes, we notice that he spun around the wrong way when he landed, or made an inappropriate lunge at the ball. Its like if you slow-mo a catch on any game ever created...The ball never goes into the hands naturally, it always hits the forearms/wrists and morphs into the hands. Big whoop, its a game, right?

If we can all consistently put up 300+ yards through the air on the hardest difficulty level with even the scrubby teams...then there's a REAL problem(with THIS franchise anyway ). Other than tht its all visual semantics.
