Progression and many other features were tuned a lot better than the 06 and 05 versions. In short, as the franchise wore on in 05 and 06 the league would become very unbalanced. WRs would be amazing and CBs would all be terrible for example.

The biggest improvement/addition to me was Player Roles for Madden 07 and how players had moral.

Yeah I did notice that Franchise mode in general on 06 was not fun. I didnt like that damn vision cone either..or maybe i just pass to slow to use it.

It will be intersting to see how Madden 11 fairs in a poll with the others mentioned here. Ill wait a few weeks after release and create a new poll.

24. 2k5 was the bomb, can't wait for the NFL licensing with EA to end so we can actually have some competition in NFL gaming

how does Tecmo only get 9 votes... Oh wait I know because you need to be old to have played it... I feel Tecmo change the game of Video football for the NES before Tecmo all we havd was Ten Yard Fight.... I just remeber one year we played every game of every week.. It was classic.. Tecmo Bowl and Bo Jackson will go down in Video Game History.. Hands Down...

2K5 is still the king in my eyes and i wasnt really a 2K fan. It just did alot right overall even with issues.

espn 2k5 was the best game of its time, but madden 10 is better than it.


im 18 and i played 2k5 religiously when it came out

but madden 10 was better.

What exactly was better. For me 2k5 had better franchise mode The stats were realistic, the AI actually traded during the season and not just during the draft, the injuries were realistic, sliders worked beautifully, the passing game is probably one of the most realistic if not the most realistic in any video game.

What 2k5 is better at than Madden 11

- Franchise mode as a whole
- The passing game is more realistic
- Injuries(simmed and in game)
- Tackling
- Ratings worked a lot better
- Presentation kills Madden easily

What Madden 11 is better at

- Graphics are so much better even though the players are a little on the cartoon side
- Locomotion is a little better just because 2k5 had ugly run animations and you could turn on a dime more often than not
- Run blocking is a lot better this year
- Sideline catches, even though they may be too good right now

Overall, I will play the newest NFL game over 2k5 just because I can play it and be in a party.

i think maddens passing game has surpassed 2k5. but thats your opinion about it. i never broke the 2 games down, i just enjoyed madden 10 alot more than i enjoyed 2k5. and like i said when 2k5 came out i played it religiously and loved it

I think the passing game is more realistic because the pass trajectories, and how you could put touch on the ball. In Madden its a lob or a bullet, both of which have bad trajectories that no QBs throw. Also, tipped balls in 2k5 were a thing of beauty to me.

All Pro Football 2K8 hands down for it's gameplay. It was similar to 2k5's but improved greatly. Better DB a.i., better animations, physics, QB spy, player uniqueness.

I voted for Tecmo Super Bowl, but 2k5 is a close second. Mostly because you could finish a game in like 20 minutes and because this is all my friends and I played in MS, HS, and even in college. Every weekend we would have tournaments and such. 2k5 was probably the franchise mode I enjoyed the most (ESPN highlights, etc)

Gameplay wise, 2k8 all the way. But as a game as a whole I have to stick with older brother 2k5. But 2k8 definitely was better on the field and fixed some of the coverage issues.

34. I voted 2k5, not even close for me. However, I would say a better poll would be to ask how many folks actually gave other games that were NOT MADDEN a chance? I would be willing to bet a lot of guys on here never even played a 2k football game, Joe Montana football, NFL Gameday or NFL Fever. All of which were great and better than Madden at certain times.
