2K5. Best overall football game I've ever played.
Would have been APF08 IF it had a Franchise Mode. Gameplay simply the best.
My 3rd would be the last version of Madden which included all those Madden cards with the Zombies, Sugar Buzz, Tiburon Team, etc...etc... Had a blast with my kids on those. Good times.Comment

Yep that's right, we were Strat guys. I live on Long Island where they produce Strat and people lined up outside in Feb to buy the baseball game hot off the presses on the first day. The kids today got it easy with Madden in August, lol!Comment

One memory that I miss from those days (that would simply not be tolerated today) is ordering that new set of player cards. The day that brown package came in the mail and you opened the cards for the new season........heaven! Statis Pro came in sheets that you had to break apart. APBA came in little manilla envelopes with the team name on them. Strat came in rubber bands I believe, but you could also order the additional player sets (for players that played in less than 10 games-for hockey anyway) Good times!!!I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.Comment

Nfl Blitz 2001 was my first nfl game on the nintendo 64. I loved that game....played the hell outta it. i voted for 2k5 though, best game i ever played.Support Louisiana College 'ball!!!!

I'm 21 and got it the first day. Never ran through a franchise mode as fast as I did my first season in that one. Game was too much fun, I was really upset when EA bought the license. The crib feature they had to display all your trophies and stuff was perfect. I still feel like if 2k had've never lost the license that Madden would be buried by now. The presentation in that game was amazing, EA still hasn't been able to catch up five years later.

16 years old. Been playing it since I was 11, and yes I have bought EVERY Madden since 2004, but every year I play it for a month and then wish I never bought it. I hate being young and succumbing to marketing
Madden 10 is fun though. I just prefer 2k5.Comment

No Love for the last gen/next gen reincarnation of BLITZ minus the NFL license?
I for one, loved that story mode, it was very "The Game/UPN TV"-esque. Plus being able to juice your players all for the sake of a championship. While definately not a good influence on children, I loved that.
Of course I kid with it being the best football game ever. But that story mode was indeed awesome.Comment
