Love 98! I just wish the onfield play was better.
There was a League GNFL and they made Playbooks that are Just GREAT! I still have them, infact they are set up on my 98 game..

Hey, sorry to reopen an OLD thread, but I'm having trouble with this very issue. I got the GNFL playbooks and the actual game plans didn't have any plays in them, but there were plays in the subfolders (if that makes sense), so I made a game plan and saved it, but it won't load in a game. I pick it as my team's plan, and nothing. Any advice? I've followed Gelat's advice and had no luck.

I know a guy on Ebay whose specialty is to adapt old school DOS and Windows games to run on Modern Windows (Vista, XP, 7, 8) as well as Mac OSX. He's done great work for me in the past, adapting several games, including FPSFP 96. I'm sure if you asked, he could easily adapt 98.

I'm very close to releasing a new roster set for Football Pro 98....It is based on the 2014-15 season. I hope to release it in less than a week for those who are interested. This set will be designed to work well with the VPNFL files.

Hopefully there are still folks interested in this great game. I know it's old, but it still rocks for play design and realistic game play.

I'll let you know soon when my rosters are officially ready.

BEST GAME EVER.

Yeah i know, its outdated but for his time it was very ahead of his time. it has Career mode when most sports game wasonly 1 season, this game had Career mode, players retiring, etc. It was a FULL SIM.

You could even defined what was the lowest and higher rtg for players and many other things. Loved this game.

Just wanted to pop in and say FPSFB is still to this day the best FB game I've ever played.

Still have all versions.

I remember (before I was really into release days and knowing when stuff would be brought out) I took FPSFB and edited all teams and made real NFL rosters. Took a whole weekend etc.. but was fun.

Less than a week later I was in "Software Etc.. " and they had FPSFB Pro.. the first one with NFL license lol

I miss the FPSFB days...

100% agreement on this one. I still can't believe how something this great went into the toilet the way it did.

Yea FPS 98 was Good but I think Ur 96 is as good if not better.
Better grafics, well somewhat And it does everything 98 did AND the CPU will call audible too..
