Re: Joe Montana Football 16 Looks to be a Mobile Game, Utilizing Unreal Engine 4
I've never heard of a gimmick IOS developer paying Montana to advertise AND do motion capture.
"We've waited long enough" sounds an awful lot like a APF marketing line
Using Montana again, and to an extent Jerry Rice, to advertise reminds me of APF
Looks like a pretty legit MoCap studio
The player model looks like a more realistic effort, as opposed to Backbreaker or other arcade IOS games
Old Sega Montana football has the connection of evolving into NFL 2k.
The overall underwhelming marketing thus far reminds me A HELL OF A LOT like 2k APF marketing lol
It's been 10 years since exclusivity, and the NFL keeps being a little skank with the license. "We've waited long enough" kinda sounds like somebody who keeps being led on by someone who won't put out.
Semi-excited for this. Hope it comes on consoles, at least as a downloadable. IDK 2k never gave APF a little upgrade and offered it for download.
I always figured this was going to be some stupid cheesy tablet game, with the title, but that MoCap .gif is very interesting.Comment

the only thing I'm afraid of is this game not allowing customization of uniforms, players, and stadiumsComment

Motion capture is a good sign that this may be bigger than expected mobile game. Don't want to get hyped up again, but would be great to see an alternative to EA's brand of football gamimgIt's not about the win or loss that reveals a man, but the journey to get there and the battle that transpired. This speaks VolumesComment

With the release of the latest clip for Joe Montana would it be ok to start an Official Joe Montana thread? Get more momentum going for this game now that it looks not to be just a mobile gameComment

Re: Joe Montana Football 16 Looks to be a Mobile Game, Utilizing Unreal Engine 4
There are mobile games that employ motion capture, so that's not a new situation.
And not to dampen things, but that .gif is of a mocap test/demo. I wouldn't 100% expect the in-game animations to play that smoothly and it wouldn't be fair to expect that. That's not to say it's impossible because it certainly is possible, but it's important to understand the difference between seeing a single character animate in dead space versus the same character animating in a live environment surrounded by countless other resource taxing assets.
That said, seeing this and noticing a few items in that set, I'm becoming suspicious of who else is behind this, but in a good way.Comment

I've been supportive of this from day one, before you even knew it existed, and unlike most I don't care if it's mobile, I will still be supporting it. Will you?Comment

What game mobile game motion cap? I serious doubt a company would waste money on motion capture for a mobile game. I put mobile gaming in the same category as penny stocks!
I was asking for an official thread to change the title (take off Mobile game)Comment
