Re: Joe Montana Football 16 Looks to be a Mobile Game, Utilizing Unreal Engine 4
Heard the release window for this is supposed to be before Madden. If that's true, they'd better start fielding ideas from the communities, like, yesterday. Especially for team names as those are so important for a customizable game (you need a lot of good names); it's something APF missed so badly on. It's just too important not to focus heavily on.
There is only so much time left before they can't realistically add anything major to the game if it's that far along.Last edited by FaceMask; 12-21-2014, 09:32 PM.Comment

Okay. Wasn't thinking on that level cause I don't care about the whole mobile thing. I'm buying no matter what its on. I realize I gotta support something if I want things to change someday. Gotta support it so the funds can be there for console in the future if its not gonna be on consoles now.Comment

Honestly, if it was a mobile game i dont think dynamic weather would be implemented. There is only so much you could do on mobile devices, so it would make more sense for the game to be for the ps4/xbox one

That link that this game is supposed to be mobile? To the thread on the Unreal Engine forums? Yeah it's gone.Comment

Even doing a lot less than that you could still call something 'dynamic weather'.
Even more likely... game hits up your mobile device's GPS, pings weather.com or wunderground and viola... weather in your current location - 'dynamic weather!'
Everything Damon Grow has done is mobile / social / mmo (per linkedin). This will be a mobile title. Even the Texans render (which doesn't have to be the in-game version, just like the motion cap work doesn't represent the in-game fidelity) leads to that, because otherwise they wouldn't get that license. Nor could they ever then followup with the #notjustanotherrosterupdate hype they tried to start if they have generic rosters (+ Joe).Last edited by mestevo; 12-23-2014, 03:00 AM.Comment

Don't know where the idea is coming from that mocap and dynamic weather can't be done on a mobile platform. They certainly can be. It's not like these devices are running on an Atari 2600 GPU with a Tiger Electronics LCD CPU inside. The current tech available is more than capable. Has been for generations actually, it just all depends on how its approached and that's always been the case with any sort of development.
Anyway, I hope it's a console game, too. But I don't want to get carried away. I'd just say if it's going to be mobile at least look into an Ouya port as the ease of translation due to the mobile OS would make it a no-brainer to getting a game on the TV. I realize Ouya isn't a big hit, but if the game is impressive (and it can be) I think there would be a lot of people willing to pick one up since it's so inexpensive in the first place.Comment

I just have a hard time seeing how the game's controls can be as deep as All Pro's without a controller.
That's what I'm looking for.
I'm starting to get the feeling that they don't want to confirm this as a mobile game yet because I don't think your hardcore fans, who are the ones who want more than a roster update, want to waste their time with a mobile game.
I guess the idea of being able to play whenever I want would be cool. I just know my battery would never last and I'd end up giving up quickly because every game I've ever tried to play on my mobile device eventually burned me out because I hate using the touch screen for controls.
Would I have to use my wife's iPad to actually enjoy this game?
I just want a console game, Graphics don't even have to be good, I just want fundamental football.Comment
