Yeah, I've got time off next week, so even if Axis Football 18 does not make it to my PS4 then, I'm also taking off a week in December.

I got it as well to support the developers. Gameplay and franchise mode are really done well. Lots of editing options but only 36 teams possibie. Also don't see a logo editor unless it is hidden somewhere. If this developer can add that like Maximum football has done, this will be a pretty good game. I will give them that when you edit a team you can select it to be collegiate, (hash marks and college rules) so appreciate that option.
EDIT: I also noticed it won't let you set the volume after going back to the main menu. you also can't turn off the 2 minute warning although there is an option for it, it doesn't work. Sometimes there is a glitch with a huge football showing up during gameplay. I do like the announcer, it is Dan Stevens from 2K.Last edited by baconbits11; 12-04-2018, 01:43 PM.Comment

This is an okay game. Very b-grade. But happy to support it.
The customization is okay. You can't edit the base uniforms, but you can create additional sets for each team. And on the sets you create you can change number styling/color and which jersey/pants are used for that set.
I've played 1 and half games so far just in exhibition, using icon passing. The best way to describe the gameplay: it feels like a mobile game that was ported to Xbox. The players don't always look like they are touching when being tackled, so trying to time jukes and spins and such is a bit tricky.
I had 1 glitch in a full game I played where in the 4th quarter I couldn't select a player on defense pre-snap. I had to wait until the ball was snapped, then I could select a player. Also on the first play of a the opposing team's drive, it doesn't show me what base formation they use. After the first play it shows me. So the opening down is a bit of a guessing game for what formation to choose on defense.
For me the music was way too loud in the menu. I changed it to be quieter, but when at the main menu that effect doesn't apply. It only goes quieter once I click through into a sub menu. I also thought the commentary was way too loud at default, and had to turn that down. The commentary is okay, but it honestly sounds like the guy is drunk as it sounds like he is slurring as he talks. It's a big distracting
I haven't tried out the franchise mode yet, but I'm really curious to. That is where I think I'll have the most fun, as is the case for me with most sports games. I need the season and building a team for me to get engrossed in a sports game.
Overall this game has left me feeling like there is fun to be had with this, but it will never be a primary game I fire up.
Edit: Tried playing it again and I just can't. The gameplay is just too lacking. I understand it's an indie game and all that stuff. But I just can't have fun with this game. Uninstalled it.Last edited by PaleVermilion; 12-02-2018, 12:20 AM.Comment

College field options don't work. Turns playing surfaces completely white. Be careful when editing, stay away from Y button( Xbox one), it resets everything.Comment

Yeah, sounds like a work-in-progress football game. I'm still willing to support these indie guys though, as long as they are willing to improve their game through patches and fan feedback.Comment

At this point I feel like maybe it got scrapped and they’ll try in 19

At this point, I think they might as well focus on the 2019 game if there are issues with the 2018 PS4 version.
I'd rather see them release a new game in late July or early August this year and take full advantage of the football season.Comment

I just bought '18 on Xbox One last night. Please, improve the framerate for '19. It makes the game nearly unplayable. I want to love the game, but can't with the choppy gameplay.Comment

Well, I guess PS4 users are not missing out then. Yeah, it is March so we might as well just wait for Axis Football 2019 this year.Comment

That's the unfortunate truth. The game will often freeze for a second in the middle of a play, then unfreeze with the play completed. I honestly don't know how it passed any kind of quality checks. If I could get a refund, I would. But I bought it digitally off the Microsoft Store and can't get my money back.
If the framerate wasn't atrocious, it'd be an enjoyable game. I think that's what makes it even more frustrating. I can see the fun game on the other side of the framerate wall, but there's no way to get over that wall and I'm left seeing the potential from afar without being able to actually experience it.Comment
