When you play against the CPU, that will give the CPU QB much more time to pass, and it's pretty shocking how much better they are when they have time to throw. Plus the CPU OL actually can get a push forward now on running plays.

It's not ideal (that would require much, much more editing), but it really changes how the game plays in a positive way.
    Thanks Bill,
loved using your 2k5 sliders as well and also must say your reviews are the best, most informative reads around.

Thanks. After these edits, are you finding that the computer is still throwing a lot of INT's???

          Bill,

What were your games like pre-edit? Was the CPU able to drive on you at all or were you regularly holding them to very low yardage.

re: Backbreaker PC Editor 1.3 (6/13 Update)

I played another game with the 2 teams I did and the cpu qb play was still much better. I played on pro, medium, form set to very good. Rodgers went 9 of 16 for 140 yards 1 TD and 2 int's. The cpu running game did not get going though as Grant averaged less than 1 yard per carry.

I was effective with Cutler and limited my INT's to 2 for a combined total of 4 for a game. Not bad. Forte was able to rush for 125 yards on 25 carries. Overall I felt pretty good with my numbers but felt the cpu needed a bump in the running game.

So far the only attributes I modified was lowering Agility on all defensive players. My line of thinking was that agility would have an effect on their reaction time as well as their ability to change directions quickly without nerfing their speed and strength or taking away from their already suspect AI by reducing their focus.

At this point I'm pretty happy with those results but am ready to start making slight adjustments to OL strength (increase) and DL strength (decrease). With the Hawks on tonight there's no way I'm doing it until at least tomorrow.

Not in the one game I played. Adequate time in the pocket really increases accuracy. This was with the Cincinnati QB.

They were awful. The CPU rarely got even 100 total yards in a game, and they'd throw 3-4 picks and have 5+ sacks almost every game.

Lowering the DL ratings to 10 basically tripled the CPU offense--for a game against two otherwise identical teams, at least.

great games so far with the edits i'm using.

i think the defensive strength ,focus and agility must come down.

                    here is what i did:

                    focus dropped 35
strength dropped 25 with the least being 55.

                    agility dropped 10

still woking on them but the games i have played so far have been much better.

One other thing to note... If you can go into Tools | Options you can enable large attribute values. This will allow any rating to go up to 255 rather then 99. Not sure if there is any affect for anything over 99 but the game recognizes it in the edit player screen. I figure you game-play lab guys could play around with it.

I have been able to tone the sacks back through various means (both teams combining for an average of 4 per game) but the cpu still can't regularly move the ball on me enough to provide a real threat.
The CPU was able to move the ball better, not significantly better, but it made a difference.

anybody add the kicker focus to 99 to see if that eliminates the extra points being missed?

                            Mr. Pres,
I dont think 10 is enough of a drop in AG.
Are you still getting too many INTs?

                            Scoop,
how much of an AG drop did you make?

and Bill, how are the INTs with you?

                            Seems like we are close...
dropping DL to max of 10 overall,
with focus dropped 35, strength dropped 25 with the least being 55 and at least 10 AG drop for all DBs and LBs.
I'm going to test this tonight.

Oh wow. I just played my first half with the edits Bill suggested. That was one of if not the most fun I have ever had not only with a football game but probably with a video game.

                              My setup:
Custom Pro (Everything including kicking turned off)
                              Hard
                              Average form

Me (Firebirds - DL set to 10, LB set to 65, CB & S set to 60) these are all 4 attributes to the same value)

CPU (Atoms - OL set to 99) again all attributes

                              Here are the stats:

                              Me (Firebirds)
rushing: 19 yards rushing on 9 attempts
passing: 92 yards (12/15 with one int)
                              first downs: 4
                              3rd down conversion: 5/8
                              sacks: 0
                              TOP: 4:15
                              Score: 10

                              CPU (Atoms)
rushing: 95 yards on 11 carries
                              passing: 30 yards (3/6 with 0 int)
                              first downs: 6
                              3rd down conversion: 2/4
                              sacks: 2
                              TOP: 5:45
                              score: 14

Now prior to this the cpu could not break 50 yards in a game against me and never threatened to beat me. In the first half alone it broke a 25 yard run up the middle and then later broke a gorgeous 39 yard touchdown run after cutting to the outside.

The cpu was also able to run the sweep play that prior to these edits my defense manhandled for a loss everytime. On the sweep this time my olb kept containment and the cpu running back cut upfield and picked up about 8 before my mlb recovered to make the tackle. Bill was dead on about the QBs. I didn't get to see him much because they were dominating me on the ground. But when he threw he went deep on a post, a couple swing passes and some various depths across the middle.

I can't say enough about this game with these edits and these are very basic edits basically firewalling players with ratings.

I cant wait to start digging in and tweeking the players with unique atts. I have no doubt we will be able to get teams to play with very unique styles.

Again I can't stress what a difference this made. Man that was awesome.

Is there any update on getting the ratings editor to see more than 12 teams and, also hopefully to read season files. Thanks. Great work so far. Absolutely amazing.
