    A few more notes:

    On the positive side:

    - CPU vs CPU is in. I started a season game in that mode to see if it worked and it did. I quit after the kickoff, which leads me to the next positive.

    - Quit the CPU vs CPU game in season mode and it saved my progress. I was able to reload the game and control Saskatchewan.

    - Awesome you can play any game on the schedule. I always thought of just running a CPU only type league and letting the games play out on their own while I work from home and seeing the results. The 9 team or 10 team league would be perfect for this.

    Notes from last game. Sak me vs Cal. 5 min Normal and Strict Penalties.

    - Shockingly won the game 19-13 in overtime after we couldn't do anything all game.

    - Seriously had 109 penalty yards on 44 plays. 4 TDs called back for holding and at one point had 5 holding calls in a row. I think if you hold the ball over 2 seconds they were throwing a flag. Maybe I had a bad player, only 4 penalties when I played as Montreal.

    - I can't run the ball. Negative yards on hard and normal games.

    Bug - Threw for over 200 yards but didn't get the 100 yard passing trophy on PS4.

      Just played 1 more and won by 2 TD's with Toronto.

      Ran for 50 in a quarter and 100 in the game, mostly with my QB. Didn't get awarded the trophies.

      Felt like I hit my stride passing a bit more.

      One more positive, cpu qb's are great at getting rid of the ball and not taking sacks. Seems much better than Madden qb's in that regard.

        After playing a couple games, I know I have a learning curve ahead of me. It has been a few years since I've had to learn a new control scheme for a football game -and it shows in the mistakes I made. I can't punt or kick a FG with any consistency for example. I'm playing on a PS4 by the way.

        Is there an option to turn up the game sounds? It seems too low by default and the game feels too quiet except for the occasional 'Defense!" chant by the crowd.

        Is there a way to edit the players appearance (beside height/weight)? Their ratings? The Logo Editor will be a welcome edition as the blank helmets and lack of a team logo at mid-field take away from the presentation.

        Despite all that, I had fun. As others have noted, I think we got cheated out of a trophy or two for passing and rushing yards.

          Aim with the right analog stick (RS). Kick/Punt with left analog stick (LS).

          The most important part is that you must pull down and push up immediately on the LS without waiting.

          If you've played APF2k8, it's not the same at all. In APF2k8, you would pull down, wait until the kicker starts his kick, then push up. Maximum Football's mechanics is completely different. Do it all with the LS in one quick motion.

            Phantom tackles hopefully will be addressed. Whatever mathematically formula, algorithm, source code, or collision detection boundaries are set for objects may need to be revisited or fine tuned.

              One of my favorite things about Maximum Football 2018 is the way the QB pocket organically forms. Very realistic. Very natural looking. Football essentially starts and ends with the line of scrimmage. The offensive lineman continues to block and impede the defensive lineman's pursuit. The D-Lineman constantly disengaging, constantly looking for an alternative route to the QB.

                Getting ready for work this morning and out of sheer boredom, I turned on the PS4 to see what's new. Surprised to see this game

                Does it have commentary? If so, how would you compare it to APF?

                How is the line play?

                Do you struggle with an average rated QB?

                  I’ll be buying this game when I get back home on Saturday. I’m excited for what this game could be with a developer that cares about the players. I’d love to see an ability to re-map controls. I hate that most football games on consoles don’t let you do that. Just about any PC game will let you play with the controls you’re used to.

                      Yeah, my reflexes are based on APF2K8. I am hesitating a bit on the left stick due to that. Just give me a couple more days to play and I'll get that muscle memory down.

                            Thanks for sharing. A few items are not on the on screen help. Such as, pass types and the right stick to shed a block. Funny, I used right stick from Madden habit and thought a block shed animation triggered. Guess I was right.

                              To be fair, the Miami Dolphins had a WR named Brian Hartline a few years back who could trip over a blade of grass. He never showed the ability to teleport like that defender though.....



                              Also, great news on the game manual. Much needed for a newer game.

                                When editing a team I can select a stadium, but I have no idea what each stadium looks like. Is there a "preview" button I am missing?
                                I also had the game crash once in the editing screen when I changed from team data to the next tab. It did not happen when I went back in game, though the changes I had made were lost.

                                Overall the game is what I expected and it has a lot of potential. I will spend some time on customization over the next few days and I will try to report back what I see.

                                One other game play note, it is too easier to return a kickoff for a TD for both user and cpu. I played on normal difficulty and I returned for a TD and the CPU had two; all in the same game.


                                I played a little bit of a game. Had to stop to run errands. The first play for me was running the first kickoff back for a TD. I was on the easy setting. All I did was run up the middle, then cut left, and ran down the sideline.
