Chad Johnson skirmish with coaches at halftime?

I don't trust the source but here it is

A league source tells us that multiple members of the Cincinnati Bengals witnessed a troubling incident as the team prepared to take the field for the second half of Sunday's playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Per the source, the last few minutes of intermission were ticking away, when the players were startled by the sight and sound of a helmet slamming against the glass pane of the training room door. Inside, receiver Chad Johnson and receivers coach Hue Jackson were engaged in an altercation. At one point, Johnson was seen holding Jackson in a headlock.

Coach Marvin Lewis entered the training room to intervene, and Johnson (per the source) took a swing at him.

Eventually, receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh broke up the skirmish, within a minute or so of the team exiting the locker room for the second half.

On Monday, several members of the team pointed to the Johnson-Jackson-Lewis incident as the catalyst for the loss of a 17-14 halftime lead and, ultimately, a 31-17 defeat.

Word is that Johnson was unhappy with the lack of balls thrown to him in the first half. A total of three passes came his way, with two completions.

In the second half, another three passes were thrown to Johnson, with only two more completions. For the game, Johnson had four catches for 59 yards.

The incident could have an even more lasting impact on the team than quarterback Carson Palmer's torn ACL and MCL. Some players, we're told, don't want to see Johnson back next year, and there's a belief that the team will be less inclined to give in to Johnson's request for a hefty restructuring of a contract that expires after the 2009 season.

So the Chad Johnson saga very well could evolve into the 2006 version of the Terrell Owens fiasco.

If so, it's very bad news for a franchise that otherwise looked to have a very bright future.
Then they posted a confirmation but again the source isnt very credible.
    JOHNSON-LEWIS INCIDENT CONFIRMED

As the real media scrambles to investigate an "Internet report" regarding a halftime altercation in the locker room between receiver Chad Johnson and coaches Hue Jackson and Marvin Lewis, we've obtained further confirmation of the fact that something bad went down during intermission of Sunday's playoff game between the Bengals and the Steelers.

Scroll down for the full story.

And we're asking the real media for a little favor on this one. We know that we're not yet considered a "mainstream" outlet. But, please, don't go get your own confirmation on this one and then omit reference as to how you first found out about it. We broke it, you bought it -- and when you are able to corroborate it it's only fair to tell your readers where it originated.

I read somewhere it was the WR coach, not CJ.

Me either. I'll wait until a major news source confirms it, but I'm expecting it to be true.

That's my thought as well. Interesting and I can see it being true, but a major news source has to confirm it.

From what I've seen, profootballtalk.com is really hit or miss. They also seem to go after the real juicy stuff. Ya never know...

That was my thoughts exactly. I was going to post a link to the article earlier in the game thread but thought against it. PFT is off 90% of the time but sometimes with things like this they're dead on. Going to be interesting to see if it gets picked up and confirmed by a bigger source.

I really hope it isn't true,he is too good of a player in a wonderful situation to mess it up. He has what many great receivers never get, a young franchise QB that will only get better.

Hopefully this isn't true but if it is then i'm not THAT surprised.

The thing is I would actually feel kinda bad for Johnson as he seems to be more like a big kid in a man's body rather then the idiotic "shock value" type of person that T.O. portrays himself to be.

I don't think anything like this happened. According to the Enquirer, Chad denies it, Marv doesn't seem particularly upset, and I think if something like this did happen it'd be much bigger news than it is.

According to the source that was posted, they asked the real media to "credit them" with the source of the information. I think it's just a publicity stunt by the authors, trying to come out with bogus story for public attention.

Interesting. He seemed out of it after Palmer got hurt. No emotion at all espically after he caught passes in the second half. The image of him as the last seconds ticked away was priceless. He looked so ****faced and shocked.

I don't think that it happened he has too much respect for Marvin Lewis to ever take a swing at him. I think it is just another group of people once again trying to make him out to be the next TO which he is. Until someone from the bengals organization confirms it I won't believe it for a second.

It would surprise me. Chad Johnson does a lot of celebrating and has a lot of fun with the media, but he doesn't seem like a guy that would go nuts and do something like that. Sounds like someone trying to start BS.
