Rudy you don't like Dick Stockton? I think he's one of the more underrated guys. I just love his voice and the way he calls a game.
I like Dick Stockton. His voice alone like Pat Summeral's is just good to listen to. Its the other half of his combo that makes it weak. Moose just doesn't bring much to the table and doesn't provide any real insight. Its like he's sedated most of the time.

Don Criqui is underrated. He was good when teamed with Bob Trumpy. I do like Tasker and Wilcots quite a bit. I hate Randy Cross since he's so grumpy and everything is about being physical. Nobody seems to make a great play when he's watching, the other guy just makes mistakes.

They use the same people for every sport. Michaels for NFL then the NBA. They used Costas for MLB, Olympics, NFL. Now Buck is in MLB, NFL & studio. They keep recycling the same people all over the place. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

There's a blast from the past. I guess Trumpy was too opinionated for TV. I wasn't a huge fan (since he's a big Bengals fan) but he usually had nice insight. He and Don Criqui were really good together.

I kinda like Joe Buck/Aikman combo. Aikman's really good and has come up really quickly; I can see where people say Buck is kind of arrogant (I never really thought so) but I like his delivery. CBS's number 1 and 2 teams are really good.

ESPN's not even worth mentioning anymore (other than the Sunday highlight show, which is great)

I guess the NBC team comes out as best overall. I really like their lineup of Costas/Collinsworth/Sharpe/Bettis in the "studio". I think they stack up as better than either the CBS or Fox teams. They'd be entertaining as one of the Sunday afternoon shows.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

And you haven't answered me!! Who's out there that could do that job? Apparently there isn't or we'd see somebody fresh.

That's bull. You can't tell me in all of broadcasting that there isn't someone who could read a teleprompter w/the same "skill" as Buck. Anyone believes that, then their thinking process isn't even within the suburbs of Reality. They keep giving the same people all of the big jobs & force us to listen to their cow dung disguised as analysis. A bunch of blowhards that all think the same way & actually expect us to believe they are open-minded w/out an agenda.

I guess you can't answer the question? Who is out there that can Host a NFL Pregame show?? Apparently Fox doesn't think there is anybody special out there to do so or they wouldn't be going with the idea of having Joe Buck doing it as well as doing play by play.

I'll offer up a non recycled name

                      Derrin Horton on NFL Network

He's a little rough as he's made some booboos on air (like being off on timing cues etc etc) but overall I find him to be affiable and non offensive. Of course you'd have other people complaining that he's too cookie cutter.

Just looking at Fox little pre-game segment that guy Curt Menefee looks like he could fit in with Terry, Howie and Jimmy..

I like Derrin Horton a lot too. Very professional, smooth and still has personality. His biggest mistake so far was wearing this ugly yellow suit on air one day.
