Yes and no. There was tension early because Pennington was solid and very much liked and respected. Then they started winning, and everyone loved him. Then they started losing, and everyone blamed him. It seems like a standard superficial relationship to me.

If the Vikings win with Favre (due to his direct impact or not), he'll be liked well enough. All he has to do is outplay the current roster of QBs, which should certainly be doable if Favre's healthy.

At the end of the day, Scott's pretty close. All these apprehensions and so-called loyalties and concerns will be put to rest if he wins for them. Of course, that's not to say they don't reseurface if he doesn't win enough...lol.

Like i've been saying, people are in for a rude awakening if they think they are going to be getting the 07 Favre or if they think Favre will "play within the system".

You seen how long it took us to get him to do that and the last he actually did that was when Mike Holmgren was the Coach and he's been out of Green Bay for more than 10 years.

Next to OJ Simpson, I'm not sure any great player in the history of the NFL has done more to sully his reputation and accomplishments as Brett Farve has among his own biggest fans.
