I like watching him play too becuase of who he is. I just hate how he comes back to play, and all the media that comes with it. It just makes him look bad on his part on how he's going about things. *uckin Farve watch...

If Yanni & Zamfir got a jam session together w/a group of banjos & a barbershop quartet, they would still be cooler than Brett Favre.-August 17, 1960Originally posted by VP Richard M. That's because no one is attacking his on-field accomplishments. He is a HOF'er no question. This is about the way that he has acted for going on 5 years every off-season. I would love to meet the person that can defend his actions with a straight face.Moderator

It's been 7 YEARS!When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

I hate that **** that ESPN pulls with Favre. ESPN camps out at his house and then has the helper monkeys say "Oh, I am sick of this Favre stuff."
As far as whether or not he retires or comes back. I do not care. If he comes back great if he does not come back... fine.
ESPN is really the problem not Favre changing his mind. many players have retired and come back with no ridiculous coverage or "storylines" and no one cared.Comment

Re: Does Anyone Else Kind of Think the Brett Favre Saga is Sort of Cool?
My position:
Sick and tired of hearing about Brett Favre every off season. It's become stale and repetitive. Another thing that sort of irks me (well not really) is that these organizations are willing to set their franchises back 1-2 years every time he's out on the market. Take the Vikings for example since their the rumored team out to pick him up. You pick up Favre, but what if you don't make it to the playoffs? You just burnt another year you could've spent developing the young QBs on your roster. That's what I don't understand. I know it's a win-now league, but good grief.
On the other hand, I can appreciate an athlete that loves to play the game. Make no mistake about it, Brett wants to be compensated. But in an era where superstars are quick to holdout b/c of contract disputes and money, it's refreshing to see someone who really loves the game and wants to play.Comment

I don't watch ESPN but I've heard they are making a big deal out of it. Every 5 minutes its something new with the update...
If he wants to continue to come back, who are we to decide when it's time for him to retire. It's his right to change his mind as many times as he chooses."when you win nothing hurts"-Broadway JoeComment

He is the only one deciding to retire. And he is getting really good at it.(Its the staying retired that he has a problem with.)
It is our right to voice frustration over someone who can't make up their mind.
I for one, have started to believe this has been more about not doing the offseason programs and manipulating teams than about actually retiring. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Maybe if Farve wouldn't change his mind every 20 seconds,ESPN wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I mean really, now we're gonna blame ESPN for this?I hate that **** that ESPN pulls with Favre. ESPN camps out at his house and then has the helper monkeys say "Oh, I am sick of this Favre stuff."

Oh and those many players who have retired and comeback didn't have the statline or the name recognition of a Brett Farve. Of course they're gonna make a big deal out of it, the guy is considered by many to be the greatest quarterback of this era. Are they going overboard with the coverage. Of course they are. But he's a big name and they're gonna cover the big names.
Look at it this way,do you think ESPN would care about the antics of Terrell Owens if he was some no name fuzz bucket? Of course they wouldn't. The cover it because he's on of the biggest names in sports.Comment

I try not to complain but, I have to. GET OVER IT.
