Maybe the Raiders or Chargers, they both have communities that condone his behavior.
But I personally want to see him play for the Browns, c'mon the Dog Pound would be ironic.Last edited by MaddenMan; 07-22-2009, 10:17 AM.Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
I dont think i have ever heard anybody say he was a great qb. But because he is not your prototype qb he will never b taken seriously......Which bothers me because it should not matter as long as the guy can win big games, which he did. And u should not post his stats without showing the rushing. The falcons always were at the top of the league for rushing with vick. He can move the chains. I would take vick now over romo.Comment

The simple answer is this: Football is entertainment, and there were few things more entertaining than watching Vick shake 6 guys on his way to pay dirt.Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
The team that would benefit the most from a talent on the field perspective would be MN. Imagine Vick, AP, and Harvin running around the field. An occasional deep pass to Berrian. As a Packer fan, Vick or Cutler to the Vikes scared me. Favre, just makes me laugh right now.
One thing I remember hearing about why Atlanta was always #1 in rushing with Vick, aside from his statistics rushing, is how he forces defenses to run predictable coverages. If Warrick Dunn and TJ Duckett were tearing about defenses with the help of Vick, imagine what the best runner in football would do.
If the Vikings go for broke and get Favre just spite the Packers, I GUARENTEE they will miss the playoffs.Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
He is a great player just not a great quarterback. Id like to see him back. Although the NFL owes him nothing, Id like to see the NFL allow him to earn his way back into the league. Maybe not this season but maybe reinstate him in march of 2010 a month before the draft if he follows the straight and narrow.I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....Comment

great athelete with a cannon of an arm. accuracy left a little to be desired, but it never helps when receivers drop the amount of balls in which they did. love him or hate him he changed the way alot of you play video game football. damn near invented the word "cheese", which i never understood . people used to cry about running with vick. the falcons ran with vick. anyway, alot of talent that was never fully developed. i personally cant wait to see him in some role in an offense.Comment

He's a playmaker and the best rushing qb of all time. Why leave the rushing stats off? ***** Much?Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
Yes. YES. YES. YES!!!! Vick is the perfect fit for the Vikings. Favre is at this point a comparable to worse passer as Vick and is no where near as good at protecting the football as Vick. The Vikings just need a competent game manager who can keep eight men out of the box consistently.

Minnesota should definitely be in the sweepstakes for Mike Vick.
Why, you ask?
Because they're already linked to Brett Favre. And everyone knows how big of a circus he is. Vick will be a circus too because of what has happened in the past few years. Obviously, it's not the same type of attention they get but it's still a big spotlight no matter which route they go. So if they don't care about having the biggest spotlight on them anyway, they should just care only about how good the player is.
Favre is up and down. He can make ridiculous plays, then let you down with bonehead mistakes. That's what you pay for when you take on Favre. Mike Vick is similar in that he can do something amazing at any given moment, but then he may not be the most consistent passer. But I think with what Minnesota has in their ground game, that Vick would be the better option because of how he affects the run game (being able to run so well himself).
There's a lot of doubts about Mike Vick's ability to play football at the same level he was when he got into trouble. But the guy is just 29 years old -- he's still in his prime physically (which is extra important for him, considering his physical ability to run is his biggest asset).
I just think if Minny is willing to risk going after Favre, it's not that much of a leap to go after Vick instead.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Does that mean you want Kordell back? After all, he was more "entertaining" that boring ole two-time SB champ Ben R, right?Last edited by coogrfan; 07-22-2009, 04:00 PM.Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
Kordell wasn't entertaining after 1997. He was pathetic to watch, always tripping over himself and going down without even being hit. He was so flustered in the pocket that it was like watching the Stooges at times.
Vick is a threat to take it to the house on every snap. Whether you use him in spot duty or make him the starter, he WILL put butts in seats and that's ultimately what the NFL cares about: money.Comment

Re: Why does everyone think Michael Vick is a great QB?
Electrifying.
I just don't believe the Vick you're describing still exists. The guy was nothing special in '06, how can two years of inactivity possibly make him better?
Your second point is also somewhat misleading. Few NFL teams have trouble putting butts in seats as it is. For the few that do, any positive effect on ticket sales would have to be weighed against the negative effect from animal rights groups upon team sponsors.
Mediocre qb + lightning rod for controversy = more trouble than he's worth.Comment

Vick was not a great QB because he never had the chance to be
he was never going to be great in a pro style offense, he would need to have an OC that utilizes his skill set betterComment
