Call me crazy, but imo going to a strip club with AI on your first night as a free man doesn't exactly scream "contrition".

Vick isn't helping his cause by creating the appearance of a person sliding back into old habits. His football future is dangling by a thread right now, and fair or not he needs to be doing things better and cleaner than everyone else.

In short, Vick should heed the old proverb- "Caesar's wife must be above suspicion."
My mistake, you were serious, lol.

I think it's a reach to say doing anything with AI should raise an eyebrow. Honestly that's just silly. You could make your exact same case without adding the part about AI. Don't even want to get into the misconceptions about him in this forum or thread but trying to put him in the same light of say Pacman is crazy.

As for him going to a strip club at all, probably not the best decision in the world, especially for the "potential" of what could happen. But nothing did happen so it's not much of a story. Him "not being the same Mike Vick" shouldn't have anything to do with strip clubs. If you told me the first thing he did was purchase a couple of pits then I'd be worried. If I asked Vick to elaborate on that statement and he said it meant dropping his cousins and other "friends", no more weed, and dropping the "party" lifestyle (don't know how much he was doing before anyway bc we didn't hear about any problems) I'd be good. Going to a strip club once doesn't say that he's still running recklessly. Considering his circumstances, going to strip clubs all the time would but this is nothing.

JBH3 (and others) what makes going to a strip club when married any different than when single? Just like anything else, you shouldn't be out hanging with the fellas alot when you're married but should still be able to every once in a while if you want. Same thing with strip clubs if it's somewhere you like going and not something your wife goes nuts over. I'd bet anything there are more married men in strip clubs than single.

As much as I'd love to see Vick shake 7 guys (making 3 of them look like children) and leap 10 feet into the endzone, I think he's done.

I love watching him play, but like Russell and Young, something is just wrong with him. He doesn't have that thing that McNabb and Favre have that makes them want to lead by example. I think he shoots himself in the foot again sometime soon and ends up in the UFL.

It's not remotely the "same crap."

Vick's issue is fighting dogs. Pac Mac going to a club is a big deal because he tends to get into fights at strip clubs.

I don't really get the connection at all.

Favre was addicted by pain killers, acted like he didn't know anything about Chmura touching little girls, went off on his WR for making contract demands before having a sissy fit and plotting to go somewhere he can stick it to the Packers. And he leads by example?

Vick doesn't have what McNabb and Favre have/had but leading by example is not it.

All joking aside The connection is they both let down their teammates and got suspended from playing NFL football. But then again there is no law against being stupid or making bad decisions.

I think you're overstating the Favre thing. He was not at Chmura's "touching party", and he didn't have to get arrested for drinking and painkillers. He VOLUNTARILY committed himself to rehab. That's character. He saw how bad things were getting and did something BEFORE it got out of hand.

For the record, I think Chmura's little friend was like 16. That's not really a little girl, although it is indeed illegal.

Getting addicted to opiates is only "character" in sports.

Everywhere else it's being a loser.

But what connection does going to a strip club have with Vick? If he went to a dog fight, I could understand, but as far as I know, Vick has had as many incidents going to strip clubs as he has going to the Applebees.

Wow. Way to misrepresent what I said. I did not say that getting addicted was character, I said seeking help and fixing it before serious harm is done to your life is character.

Getting addicted does not make you a loser. Many of our Presidents have had alcohol and cigarette addictions. Does that make them losers? I don't think so.

Seeking help and fixing an opiate addiction is realizing you're a huge **** up.

The only character that can be shown in drug addiction is not getting addicted.

This is more than just one of the things a guy does fresh out of the penn...this is THE thing a guy does fresh out of the penn. Not a single thing wrong with this. Tons, and I mean tons, of players hit up strip clubs. Just Pac-Man's the one who made it seem like such a taboo thing.

If Goodell somehow has a problem with this, then he'd be a hypocrite.

If he can return to 90% of his previous self, give me Vick over Hill/Smith on the Niners any day.

Passing wise, Vick is comparable to Smith. Scrambling-wise, it's not even close.

At least Vick amounted to something, Smith is just a straight bust. I still can't believe we passed on Aaron Rodgers for Alex Smith.

Goodell just reinstated Vick but suspended him for the first four games so I guess the strip club thing didn't matter.

I guess the question now, since he's officially back in the NFL is what team(s) will bring him in or what team(s) should bring him in(Realistically speaking of course).
