Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF

I do not get this team at all.. They claimed to be a three headed monster, yet the coach calls shot gun running plays.. And BS quick passes that NEVER WORK.. Not one time have I seen those play work for these cowboys..

The last time they worked was when we had K Dub.. Kevin Williams.. that was in the early ninety's. We try to trick people with our 300 plus O line..

Garrett does not understand Football.. And no one on this team has the balls to yank Romo and control the game from the sidelines...
Parcells would have grabbed his facemask and said were running it the rest of the night...

    Just a pathetic showing..

After actually getting a better look at the stadium and a lot more views of what it's about...it's very impressive. But only the Cowboys would have a stadium like that. lmao. Some of the crap they have in their is the most ridiculous stuff I've ever seen...such as the caged cheerleaders or w/e the hell they call them. like really? lol.

The defense, despite being loaded with high draft picks, simply does not make plays.

The defense stopped them early when the Offense put them in bad spots.. Yes they still should have closed the game, but they should have never been in that situation. 3 ints two went for Tds not to mention Jones fumble.. another short field to defend...

You have to control the ball to keep the D fresh.. We did not do that with all the stupid playcalling...I never seen a team run themselves back into a game like I saw tonight.. We could run all day.. The Defensive scheme and Offensive schemes just suck..

They need to become the old cleveland browns offense.. RUN RUN RUN...

Horrible game by Romo. My grandma could've made better throws. I was surprised at how effective our running game was. Where the heck is D.Ware? He is not getting any darn pressure this year at all. I know he is getting chipped a lot, but I thought he was a playmaker. T-New is another guy who needs to step up his game.

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF

A lot of things could have been better tonight. Obviously we need to protect the football, and as such Tony Romo (three picks) and Felix Jones (fumble lost on kick return) will be the first ones fingers are pointed at for this loss (deservingly so).

By the same token, the defense could do the offense some favors and get a sack, force a fumble, pick off a pass, or something. I feel like with regard to sacks, we're missing the presence of Greg Ellis just a bit; teams obviously are keying in on Ware and Anthony Spencer isn't doing enough to justify any sort of attention.

A lot of season left, but this Cowboys' team has plenty of work to do to be a good one.

I really hate the 3-4.. When you go nickel its basically a 4 man front..
teams just spread you out and try to get a LB in coverage..

Tony Romo and Jason Garrett in a big game atmosphere? GTFO with that ****

like ive been saying for a few years now, Dallas is not going to win anything substantial with Tony Romo as their "franchise QB"

another thing, our corners ****ing suck [/understatement]....also, it was ignorant to release Greg Ellis and Terrell Owens...Did you see NY double and triple teaming our ONLY playmaker on defense every play? Spencer isnt going to get it done....This team as constructed isnt going to win ****

Grats to the Giants. They almost messed around and let the Boys win but when they needed Eli to take them down field he did.

If this season plays out like I'm thinking it will, it will be way past time to fire Wade and start looking for a new hardass coach that will beat the living crap out of Romo.
Wade didn't throw three picks that led to 17 points now did he? Put a decent qb back there and the Cowboys win this game easily.
No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

Well, the biggest errors in the game were the 4 turnovers. The Felix Jones fumble is understandable but not forgiveable, while the 3 INTs by Romo were downright bad. I don't know if he was either making horrible reads or just didn't see the defenders but all of those picks should have been avoided. As for the game itself, the Cowboys still should have pulled this one out had they gameplanned better.

I have no idea what Garrett is doing with playcalling but it's obvious he needs to be canned or change his philosophy. The Giants had no solution to the running game and the Cowboys were running the ball down their throats, but for whatever reason, after long successful drives, the offense would follow it up with 3-straight pass play drives that would result in 3 & outs. This makes absolutely no sense. You have a mammoth O-line, 3 starting quality RBs & 2 starting quality TEs, you should simply run the ball & pass to keep the defense honest. The offense had 250+ rushing the ball, how do you go away from that production? HOW? Romo basically blew it, no way around it; you just can't make those kinds of bad throws or mistakes, simple as that.

As for defense, aside from Ware & Ratliff, there are really no playmakers in the group. With Spencer not getting a consistant rush & Ware was double and triple teamed and wasn't able to do much of anything. 2 games and no sacks so far for a perenial MVP candidate and it's either offenses have found how to block Ware or Phillips is not calling the right plays. The secondary is the achilies heal of the defense and now with the front 7 not being able to put consistant pressure on the QB, it's completely exposed the secondary.

On the Giants side, they played smart football. They kept the game close, had some great BALANCED playcalling and executed when needed. Steve Smith has really turned it on this year and I think he's finally arrived. He's not goign to be an elite NFL WR but he will probably play in this league a long time; the guy is an excellent route runner & very reliable.

This is a game the Cowboys are goign to need to pull out if they want to be considered a playoff-calibre threat, and it seems they still aren't ready for it. Big shame. What a major boner-deflater this game must have been for Jerry Jones. lol. Big grand opening & they came up short. Sigh.

Neither team registered a sack. This game is broken lol.

Told you Cowboys fans...told you you'd lose. Join the 1-1 club w/ us Eagles, and deadskins. Albeit I thought Brandon Jacobs was going to gash you guys, but instead you all let Eli get off for a 300+ yd effort and 3 scores. Great job!

Romo's 3 picks are just horrible.

Couple that w/ 13 other incompletions, and I don't see how another embarassing performance by Romo, albeit on center stage ONCE AGAIN, basically losing the game for his team doesn't render this dude an absolute hype-fest choker.

So there are no excuses in this one. The Cowboys, Romo was healthy, the Cowboys put some pts on the board, and the better team won...err QB... won.

I mean what's Romo gonna blame that one on? He ain't dating Jessica Simpson no more. T.O isn't around anymore to cause him any grief. What's it gonna be this time.
