I see my Boys pulling this out, but it will be a slugfest. I see a low scoring grind it out type game. I think the difference will be the Cowboys use of Bennett and Jones. They are both x factors and can pose serious matchup problems. The Giants losing a WR, and also not having a gamebreaker on the perimeter would make the offense very predictable. The Giants pass rush will be big, but if Garrett will utilize all of his weapons in the short to med passing game and screens I think we will prevail.

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
Cowboys are not underdogs. I have seen plenty of folks think that they can win the division and at least make WC
I do not see anybody picking them last or to be 6-10
They have to much talent not to be in the mix. But we have to see if they have heart.
Michael Irving said they are winning the SB.
This will be a tight race all the way through between Eagles, Giants, Cowboys
Skins have a good defense but a terrible offense. But they can still game
Cowboys vs Giants this weekend is going to be a good game.
If the Giants receivers cannot get seperation from the Cowboy corners then it will be a long night for Eli and crew
that is the key to the whole game.
if the Giants can pass a bit and open up the run game then it would make it tough on the cowboy offense because the giants would be playing that slow grind it out offense that chews the clock.
should be a good game... Always fun playing the division rivals.Comment

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
As I stated before, this game will all come down to who wins the battle in the trenches on both sides. Both teams are built from the inside out with a couple of great skill position players but in the end both teams are built to win by being able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The Giants have the steady stable of extreme depth at the D-line position while the Cowboys have a monster-sized, athletic o-line that, when motivated, can completely take over a game. On the flip side, the Giants have one of the most technically sound o-lines while the Cowboys have a pretty pressure-packed front seven.Comment

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
Once again you do not have info correct
The GIANTS won the division last year. They faltered down the stretch when Plax went down. He ruined the year and the Giants could not overcome it.
The Eagles came in and beat us in the playoffs and deserved it.
But they are not a better team the the Giants. I do not even think they are better then the Cowboys.
All 3 teams can win the division. But to say BY FAR is just delusional talk.
It matters plenty losing JJ...The new coach is not going to re-invent the wheel but there are things he does not know or at least proven to know that JJ does know and knew well.
Counting on a rookie receiver to say they improved their receivers is ho hum...Rookie receivers are not known to make big impacts.
They beat the Panthers because Dehlhome is terrible and threw picks left and right just like he did the last time he played a real game in the playoff lose
The Eagles have a solid team and can win the division but you are selling the Giants wayyyyyyyyyyy short if you think they are not equal or better then the Eagles.
But talk is cheap I guess...We will just wait and see how (By Far) better the eagles are then the Giants....
They don't have to count on the rookie WR though, he just adds more speed beside Curtis & Jackson.
I'm not sellng your Giants short. I said they will most likely get the Wild Card slot because they dominate the LOS on both sides. Hell, I think they go into Dallas and win on Sunday night.Comment

Where did I say anything about the Giants not winning the division last year??? All I said was that the Eagles went to the NFC Title game after beating your Giants.
They don't have to count on the rookie WR though, he just adds more speed beside Curtis & Jackson.

Now you are selling the Cowboys short....HAHAHAHAHA....
The Cowboys can play. The only question with that team is their lack of heart. They seem to not punch back when they get punched in the mouth.
But they have talent all over that roster as much as I hate them and their coach. They are a good coach and some heart away from being big time.
This will not be an easy game for the Giants. That i can assure youComment

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
Question: Since you see your "boys" pulling this one out what games in 2009 do you see them dropping?
For all intents and purposes they were a good home team last year, but they did drop two games there and this year you see SD, ATL, SEA, and CAR at home.
I think we can all agree that outside a visit from Philly that this is likely one of your tougher home games. We also know that in the DAL home win over the Giants last year the #1 Cowboys killer on the Giants, Brandon Jacobs, did not play.
So are you expecting them to go 8-0 at home, or do you just assume Dallas is going to win every game?
Because if you see your "Boys" pulling this one out, then what is stopping you from seeing them sweep at home? Or is it that your just a homer?Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Relax CowNation,
The Cowboys arent that "bad",and the "G-men" arent as good as they think they are.
Romo Owns the G-men in the Reg season(4-0),we'll worry bout playoffs when we get there.

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
By the same token, I want to see what the Cowboys' offense can do against a defense that's a number of steps up the ladder from the Buccaneers. I'm pretty sure we can keep the Giants' pass rush in check, as historically we've done a good enough job with them considering their talent, but the Giants' second-level players are by and large better than those on the Bucs as well.Comment

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
Interesting to see how the Giants OL regroups. I don't recall if all of them were there for that 8 sack game but that's still on the minds of the ones who played. That's something they want to make up for. I'm sure it also something Dallas wants to repeat.Comment

Re: Week 2: Giants @ Cowboys on SNF
What's even more interesting is whether or not Dallas can even muster some pressure on Eli. In case you forgot, they went sackless last Sunday against a QB who takes three days to throw the ball. That's what I'll be looking for.Comment

Because 2 of those wins come from 2007 when a one TERRELL OWENS caught 4 TDs (2 in each game).
Another of those 4 wins came last year w/o Brandon Jacobs in the lineup.
Those are two rather GLARING omissions that should impact this matchup, AND future matchups between these two teams.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Sacks aren't always an indicator of pressure. They got to Leftwich plenty and his throws were erratic. But then again who can't get to the statue.Comment
