What I wonder is, for Pro Bowl players that are on one of the two Super Bowl teams, are they going to play in the Pro Bowl? It's a completely meaningless game. I don't why they'd risk injury just to play in it. The coaches may not even allow that either. And if the players don't play in it, the league is going to have to select a good 10 players to replace them(simply going off of how Super Bowl teams often times have a good amount of Pro Bowlers/stars on the team). I don't know why they moved this game before the Super Bowl.

I don't believe any players from the two Super Bowl teams will play in the game.

I know Wilfork has already said: "It's an honor, but I hope I don't have to play because I'll be in the Super Bowl the next week."

Yeah that's kind of what I figured. Just dumb though, they'll have to find a ton of replacements now. And lol at Wilfork.

The Bryant McKinnie selection is laughable. Ryan Kalil was great for Carolina, I was really hoping to see him get a nod.

There aren't many other viable choices but I still don't like the fact that DeSean Jackson is used for both the WR and KR spots.

Ryan Grant and Clay Mathews were shafted.

1200 yds and 10 tds for Grant and Mathews with 10 sacks and creating havoc on the outside.

Every year there are some players who get shafted.

            Mathews is an alternate, though.

Sorry, I got the quote wrong...this is what Wilfork actually said:

"Don't get it twisted, I love the Pro Bowl but hope I can't go because I will be at the Super Bowl the next week."

I wish the NFL would revert back to the old selection process, when only coaches and players could vote. By taking fan voting into account, it has now become a little bit more about name recognition.

At least it's not nearly as bad as the NBA All-Stars.

There's a difference between "shafted" and "having a good season in a year others had good seasons."

I'll take Grants stats over Williams stats of 1100 yds and 7 tds vs Grants 12 yds and 10 tds, wouldn't you?

While you can certainly make an argument for Grant, other would point out Williams shares carries w/Stewart (who has 200 carries, 1000 yds & 9 scores), comes out when the ball is inside the 10 and almost averages a full yd per carry more. The 2nd highest in carries for GB is Aaron Rodgers.

I could hardly say Grant got shafted when his stats aren't that far above Williams, Gore & Stewart. He has more yds & TD's largely because he has @ least 50 more carries.

                        Yup

Williams is averaging .8 more YPC and has similar yards. It's really a no brainer and could at worst be considered a toss up.

Faneca makes it on name recognition again. He's probably the weakest link on the Jets OL, especially in the passing game.

Shafted was a bit too strong, but he certainly has a right to be disappointed putting up comparable stats.

I'm not saying Williams doesn't deserve to go, but in all fairness, Grant has played in two more games than Williams and played on a playoff team.

Other sports all star games have good players sitting out as well. It happens in all sports. The line has to be drawn somewhere, but it certainly is open to debate.

I'll completely agree with you on Mathews, he should be more than an alternate. I don't think many people have noticed him, but damn, he's a beast. He is the only one where I looked at the selections and was thinking "how the hell is this guy not on the team"? (Well, him and London Fletcher, but, clearly he somehow isn't allowed to play in the Pro Bowl)

Grant, on the other hand, was more of a toss up as people have mentioned in earlier posts.
