I think Andre Johnson still belongs bc there's a GREAT argument for him being the best WR in the game and he rarely gets talked about.

On the same level, Ray Rice is still underrated. He got a good amount of pub this year but you could argue he was the 2nd best RB in the league this year and he doesn't get talked about on that level.
The only other person put ahead of him when receivers are talked about is Larry Fitzgerald.

i think ray rice gets good recognition, but people don't realize that he's really all the ravens had going on offense for a large part of the season, especially in the middle to end. of course, the colts exposed that in the playoffs, but still...
(in response to jmood too) I think there are different tiers. Generally, underrated refers to players that nobody knows about or are just generally flying under the radar. But I also think upper tier players are underrated. Guys like Rivers and Rodgers could be looked at as underrated too.

The Cards went to the SB so the world had all eyes on Fitz and all of a sudden he's the best WR in the league? Now he may be, but it's certainly not a lock like everyone made it during and after last year's playoff run. Everyone in the know knew he was great before that but not many would've called him the best. Considering I thought Andre was better then and still do, I think he's still underrated.

Ray Rice is similar. He finished 2nd to Chris (record breaking) Johnson in total yards this year but most just think he had a "nice" season. Many think it's debatable that he belonged in the Pro Bowl. He's certainly getting noticed, but I'd say he's still not getting the credit he deserves.

i see your point about big 'dre, i've always had him and reggie wayne at the top of my list with fitz third. however, it just seems a bit tough to call a guy underrated when people are considering him second or third best. even if he's truly the top wideout, being called 2nd or 3rd isn't really underrated.

ray rice is a stud (you know, the guy i had on my fantasy team ), but i do think he isn't given the credit he deserves for carrying the ravens offense all season. still, i wouldn't even say he's the most underrated back (mojo, s-jax and fred-jax are the leading vote-getters there), but i'll say he does qualify.

Andre Johnson is not underrated anymore.

Well he better put up good numbers with the line he has in front of him.
He was actually pretty good(minus injuries) before the line became the dominant line it is today.

That being said, I don't think David Harris is the 3rd best MLB in the league.

No neither of these guys are the MOST underrated... and I guess that's the point of the thread so yes, they both don't belong in the discussion. I do think both are underrated compared to where they should be. Rice, because this is his first year to shine (I don't think Chris Johnson would've even gotten the love he did this year without the record... a couple more years and both will be household names). Johnson, because he plays for an expansion team that has yet to make the playoffs (basically Fitz's problem before the Cards finally got noticed last year).

Since the Steelers failed to make the playoffs this year, people seem to be sleeping on Ben Roethlisberger. When he's hot, there might be one or two QBs out there better than him. He can win ugly with the late game drives and he can dominate a defense like he did in the Packers game this year. The only guy who's as reliable in the 2 minute drill is Peyton Manning.

ROFLburger is a guy I have the hardest time deciding on whether he is overrated or underrated. Sometimes he looks like Brady Quinn... other times he looks like, well... ROFLbuger....

There still is no love for London Fletcher; that statement alone should answer the question profoundly.

Johnson's underrated because no one seems to realize that his tools and performance are starting to be Prime Moss-like. Sure, everyone knows he's one of, if not the best today...but he could EASILY be one of the best of all-time when all is said and done. He's THAT good.

so why does Vick get to play? why do people with assault charges get to play? why do people who have actually killed another human being get to play?

                        My top 5 WR are
                        Andre Johnson
                        Larry Fitzgerald
                        Brandon Marshall
                        Randy Moss
                        Calvin Johnson

These are based on pure talent and physical traits not necessarily stats.

Sidney Rice, Miles Austin, and Steve Smith (NYG) are going to challenge for position in my top 5.

Either way, regarding Andre...he's not much of an attention whore like the typical WR, so I don't really care how over or underrated he is.

the lack of reggie wayne is very questionable there, my friend.
