Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
As the draft comes closer and closer I am getting a bigger feeling that the Broncos are gonna take Dez Bryant. I think they could get both McClain and Dez if they trade up into the late first and get a lil lucky. I really hope that they don't take him at 11, that would be worse than taking DHB at 7.
Also @ the guy above me, they already have Shaun Rodgers right? Even if he missed 5 games he's still a good NT.Last edited by bo4345; 04-16-2010, 11:25 PM.Comment

Regardless, Rogers will likely be moved to DE and the Browns still need another DE and someone who could play NT on rushing downs/in a pinch.Too Old To Game Club

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
Might as well throw in my current mock draft:
1. Rams – Sam Bradford, QB, and Oklahoma – Bradford is providing that he is healthy and worthy of the number 1 pick. They would be crazy not to take him.
2. Lions – Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska – Jim Schwartz has stated that Defense is his biggest concern, what better way to fill that concern than with the best DT in recent memory.
3. Bucs – Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma – Tampa Bay might lose the Suh sweepstakes, but McCoy is a more than capable alterative. He will be their new Warren Sapp.
4. Redskins – Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State – I think Jason Campbell will get one more year to prove he’s a starter, and with the unfortunate retirement of Chris
Samuels, the Redskins have a huge need here.
5. Chiefs – Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa – The chiefs have a huge hole at Safety; the Chiefs will not pass up Berry.
6. Seahawks – Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma – Missing out on Okung and Bulaga, the Seahawks will need someone to protect Hasselbeck/Whitehurst.
7. Browns – Eric Berry, S, Tennessee – He is the next Ed Reed and will solidify this defense for years to come. Also, Colt McCoy would be tempting in round 2.
8. Raiders – Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame – Clausen impressed with his recent workout and I think that and the Raiders need for a good QB will be too hard to pass up.
9. Bills – Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers – I thought they might be a play for Clausen, but with him gone, I’m thinking they go QB in round 2.
10. Jags – Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/OLB, South Florida – Possibly the most upside of anyone in the draft. Jack Del Rio loves his defense and he lacked a pass rush last season. A defense with Kampman and Pierre-Paul is scary.
11. Broncos – Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State – No more Marshall, so they lack that number 1 receiver and Dez will fill that hole. I expect them to go Defense-heavy in the 2nd round though.
12. Dolphins – Earl Thomas, S, Texas – Dan Williams is interesting choice here, but if the Dolphins aren’t planning to sign Darren Sharper, they will need to draft safety to help their greenhorn corners look better. Thomas has all the skills to excel. But, I expect Miami to trade back where they still could get either Thomas or Williams. Also, rumors are circulating that Ronnie Brown might be traded. If that is the case, I can see them drafting Spiller here.
13. 49er’s – Joe Haden, CB, Florida – They need a starter to go along with Shawntae Spencer since it’s obvious that Nate Clemons is a shell of his former self.
14. Seahawks – CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson – Pete Carroll will want to have an exciting offense, what better way to do that then with the biggest homerun hitter in the draft. Also, the Seahawks just CAN’T go through another season with Julius Jones as their go-to-guy.
15. Giants – Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama – Antonio Pearce’s release leaves a big hole not only in the lineup, but also in the locker room. McClain is the player and leader that the Giants will need.
16. Titans – Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech– With the loss of Vanden Bosch, the Titans will need someone who can rush the passer and tackle.
17. 49er’s – Mike Iupati, OG/OT, Idaho – The 49ers are committed to drafting the best player on the board usually and Iupati is that player. Not only that, but he fills a need for them whilst they wait to draft a QB next season.
18. Steelers –Maurkice Pouncey , C, Florida – The Steelers faded away from their style of smash mouth football last season in favor of the pass. I think they’ll get back to that this year with the pick of Pouncey who is smash mouth enough for the steelers. Roethlisberger’s legal issues and possible sanctions also insist that the Steelers will want to stray away from the pass game and get back to running the rock.
19. Falcons – Brandon Graham, DE/OLB, Michigan – The Falcons addressed their need for a CB by snatching up Dunta Robinson in Free Agency. Now they must address their pass rush with a Woodley clone.
20. Texans – Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State – Failing to resign Dunta Robinson leaves a hole at CB and with Haden off the board, Wilson is the best CB available.
21. Bengals – Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma – Still in the market for weapons for Carson Palmer, I see the Bengals taking Gresham here.
22. Patriots – Everson Griffin, DE, USC – They need some pass rush and guess what? They will get their pass rush.
23. Packers – Charles Brown, OT, USC– Even though the line played better as the season went on, the packers could use some help on the O-line. Keeping Aaron Rodgers upright should be the top priority.
24. Eagles – Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas – To put it simply, the Eagles Linebackers just aren’t very good. They are solidified on offense but lack a linebacker that can get after the passer and help free up Trent Cole.
25. Ravens – Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech – A guy who is skyrocketing up the boards. I think the Ravens will select the best player available (because they don’t have many holes) and that’s Thomas. The man can do everything. This pick would give Joe Flacco more weapons than ever.
26. Cardinals – Sean Witherspoon, OLB, Missouri – The Cards feel Joey Porter could be the OLB they need and that opens up this pick for them to draft a capable OT to protect Matt Leinart. Witherspoon can help in the pass or the rush and I think he could play inside if needed.
27. Cowboys – Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee – The Boy’s need a Tackle, and this is a guy who could go in the top 10. No question pick here.
28. Chargers – Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno State – They resigned Darren Sproles but lost LT. Sproles doesn’t appear to be an every down back, so Mathews would be a good fit here to spell him.
29. Jets – Taylor Mays, S, USC – The Jets added the troublesome wide-out Holmes and that will free them up to draft something other than WR. Taylor Mays has all the tools to excel and in Ryan’s defense, he may do just that.
30. Vikings – Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama – The injury to Cedric Griffin and with Antoine Winfield’s age catching up to him, the Vikings are in need a CB. He would make the most sense here for the Vikes.
31. Colts – Jared Odrick, DT, Penn State – The Colts need to get younger on Defense and also sure up their D-line. Odrick can do both.
32. Saints – Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU – Steal? Scott Fujita left to go play for the Browns, so the Saints should be the market for a replacement and Hughes could fit in very nicely for the Champs.

Everything I've read on PackersNews and JSOnline seems to point more to us going Defense with our 1st pick, possibly OLB.#RespectTheCultureComment

I like the Patrick Robinson pick for the Texans in the 2nd round...but I think if Ben Tate is there in the 2nd the Texans won't pass him up.Comment

Demaryius Thomas-WR-Player Apr. 18 - 8:28 pm et
Georgia Tech WR Demaryius Thomas "displayed major progress" from his broken foot in a workout on Sunday, a league source tells Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
Roughly 13 NFL teams were in attendance, according to the report. Thomas did not run the 40-yard dash because his foot is not fully recovered, so he merely did positional drills. Thomas was invited to New York for Thursday's first-round and plans to attend. Our own Evan Silva has Thomas going to the Patriots at No. 22.

Plus i seriously doubt with all the Eagles defensive woes they'd go after a RB. They have Lesean McCoy, Mike Bell, and Leonard Weaver.Comment

Now that the Eagles have acquired Ernie Sims they definitely won't go after Weatherspoon.Comment
